CARD DEFENDERS – Update

City and County Neighbourhood Watch Association (Leicester & Leicestershire) (CCNWA) have received a substantial number of requests for Card Defenders from residents in Burbage and surrounding areas, who are not subscribing members of CCNWA.

This is a result of Burbage Neighbourhood Watch, which is nothing to do with CCNWA, mistakenly submitting an item from a CCNWA Newsletter, to the ‘Local Rock’ publication.

TO BE CLEAR: CARD DEFENDERS ARE ONLY AVAILABLE TO SUBSCRIBING MEMBERS OF CCNWA, ALTHOUGH WE ARE OUT OF STOCK AT THIS TIME.

CONSEQUENTLY WE ARE SORRY BUT ANYONE WHO AS REQUESTED CARD DEFENDERS, AND IS NOT A SUBCRIBING MEMBER OF CCNWA WILL NOT RECEIVE ANY.

CCNWA IS FULLY FUNDED BY THE MEMBERSHIP, WITH NO OTHER FUNDING.

Your dedicated neighbourhood team

Sgt Paul Kear

Collar number: 923

I joined Leicestershire Police in 1993 and have worked across the entire force area at some point. I have been at Melton Mowbray since October 2011, policing all the neighbourhoods during this time. I work with a great team of officers and partners, between us we try our best to solve problems and hopefully make a difference for the better in all Melton's communities.

PC John Scott

Collar number: 954

I joined the Police in 1994 and learnt about the job during my early years working at Melton as a General Duties Officer. In order to get some city policing experience I moved in the late 1990's to work in the Belgrave area of Leicester.

After a few years in Leicester I was asked to return to Melton for a few months and have been here ever since! In November 2009 I started work as a Beat Officer for the Melton Rural South neighbourhood.

Since a major change in working practice at the beginning of 2015 I have been able to spend more time ‘out and about’ on the beat. I hope this has been noticed.

Please let me know if you think I can help with any problems or issues.

Thanks for your support.

PCSO Jack Riley

Collar number: 6074

I started working on the Rural South Beat team in August 2015 after spending 6 months previously working on the Melton Town Centre Beat. Since commencing my work in this area I have focused my time on consulting the public and tackling the issues closest to the heart of this community. I have spent most of my time attending local parish council meetings and various community events in order to break down any previous barriers between the police and the local community. Most recently I have conducted Internet Safety talks in local school and conducted school parking patrols; this is due to a high number of the community engaging with me so I can give the best service possible. If you see me walking around then please come and have a chat, I'm always happy to talk.
