amateur golf event; conducted by Green Pond Country Club head golf professional John Kulhamer.

Begun in 2002, the Lehigh Valley Amateur Golf Alliance recognizes the traditions, historical significance, and contributions that the Lehigh Valley Amateur and the Golf Association of the Lehigh Valley Foundation have made to amateur golf in the LehighValley region.
The Lehigh Valley Amateur Golf Alliance is a mutual agreement which recognizes the top amateur golf tournaments in the region, thus creating a proper focus to the regional amateur golf season.
LEHIGH VALLEY AMATEUR GOLF ALLIANCE
AMATEUR PLAYER EXEMPTIONS
1.The champions of the Lehigh Valley Amateur are granted a lifetime exemption into the Lehigh Valley Tournament of Champions.
2.The champions of the following tournaments are granted a lifetime exemption into the Final Qualifying stage of the Lehigh Valley Amateur, or the Final Qualifying stage of the Lehigh Valley Senior Amateur Match Play Championship:
1. Lehigh Valley Medal Play Championship
2. Lehigh Valley Tournament of Champions
3. Lehigh Valley Inter-Club Championship
4. Pennsylvania Open Championship
5. Pennsylvania Amateur Championship
6. Pennsylvania Middle-Amateur Championship
7. Pennsylvania Senior Amateur Championship
8. Philadelphia Open Championship
9. Philadelphia Amateur Championship
10. Philadelphia Middle-Amateur Championship
11. MET Amateur
12. Lehigh Valley Open
3.“Lehigh Valley Player of the Year” award winners are granted a lifetime exemption into the Final Qualifying stage of the Lehigh Valley Amateur, or the Final Qualifying stage of the Lehigh Valley Senior Amateur Match Play Championship.
4.Both parties recognize the official “GRAND SLAM” of amateur golf in the greater Lehigh Valley region to be:
* LehighValley Amateur
* LehighValley Medal Play Championship
* LehighValley Tournament of Champions
* Lehigh Valley Inter-Club Championship (individual 54-hole event).
5.The GALV Foundation is a sponsor of the Lehigh Valley Amateur.
NOTE: All past champions and/or award winners who desire to utilize their exemptions must:
I. Be a local amateur golfer in the greater Lehigh Valley region.
The player must be a:
1. resident of the greater Lehigh Valley region,
2. long-time native of the region with an ongoing relationship to the greater Lehigh Valley region, or
3. an active regional golf club member in the greater Lehigh Valley region.
II. have current amateur status per the USGA RULES OF GOLF governing amateur status.
III. currently play annually in at least one (1) major individual amateur championship tournament per season on the Lehigh Valley regional amateur golf circuit.
