Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Advertising, Public Relations and Media

Middlesex University seeks to appoint a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer, to be based at the University’s Branch Campus in Mauritius. Applications from candiates for fractional or part time appointments are aslo welcome

Applications are invited from those who have the ability to teach Advertising, Public Relations and Media to degree level students.

The suitable candidate for this position will have:

• An academic background in media and cultural studies (or cognate discipline) and an in-depth understanding of both the advertising and public relations industries.

• The ability to demonstrate this knowledge in the form of a research profile relevant to at least one of the subject areas.

• Relevant professional experience will also be taken in to consideration.

We are currently running a range of modules addressing topics such as media theory, journalism, new media, advertising, and marketing, so the candidate will need to demonstrate a proven track record in these areas. Specialist skills in linguistics (including TEFL), HTML or web filmmaking would be particularly desirable.

For all Senior Lecturer positions, you will hold a PhD in the relevant discipline and will show evidence of academic management, research, successful educational practice and a willingness to contribute to developments in the subject area.

A minimum of 2 years teaching experience in Higher Education, preferably in the UK, is essential.

All positions require an excellent command of written and spoken English.
