Information for Candidates

This examination paper contains 5questions totaling 55 marks.

Advice to Candidates

You should attempt questions, such that the sum of their marks will be equal to 40.

To answer the questions, consider the references below that you can open during the exam.

  1. Basic Notions

Objectives: The aim of the questions in this part is to evaluate your required minimal knowledge and skills. Answers in the pass category represent the minimum acceptable standard.

  1. Reading[3], answer the following:

1.a What research method (field research: survey, case study, …) was applied in this work? Justify your answer.  (5m)

1.b Compare, in less than two lines, the following statement: “A conversational data collection can be divided into twoobvious phases, recruitment and collection.”with the related one introduced in [4].  (5m)

1.cThe sampling concept was largely developed, and the authors have identified problems facing it in the observed field.Enumerate succinctly these sampling problems.  (5m)

1.dMatch the kind of applied observation, in this paper, with the corresponding one in [4].(5m)

II.Familiar Problems Solving

Objectives. The aim of the questions in this part is to evaluate that you have some basic knowledge of the key aspects of the lecture material and can attempt to solve familiar problems.

2. In [3], an observation methodology was introduced including: sampling, observing, and data collecting.

2.a Represent graphically this observation methodology.  (10m)

2.b Combine this methodology with that of Research Development Methodology introduced in [4]. (5m)

3.In [4], a graphical algorithm of Research Testing Methodology was introduced. Combine it with that introduced in Research Development Methodology.  (5m).

4. Figure 5 of [2] represent a Task Dependency Table of a methodology. Using the CPM Research Project Management Method un[4], find the critical path for that methodology.  (10m)

III. Unfamiliar Problems Solving

Objectives. The aim of the question in this part is to evaluate you can make progress towards the solution of unfamiliar problems, and can set out reasoning and explanation in a clear and coherent manner

5. You have studied several Scientific Research methodologies models in [1, 2, 3, 4]and in other research papers. Some perspectives in this domain are also presented in [1, 4]. You are asked, after this survey, to outline accurately your own perspectives for this domain. (5 m)
