Leaving your bin out after collection day is an offence and can get you a Fixed Penalty Notice for £80
Bins blocking the street cause an obstruction creating a danger for visually impaired people, mobility scooters and pushchairs
Bins left in the street are unsightly and give the impression that you don’t care about the appearance of your street
- Empty bins left out can be blown away causing damage to vehicles or other property
- Putting the correct rubbish in the correct bin will ensure your bins are emptied – don’t contaminate your waste

From 1 January 2018, a chargeable garden waste service is available to local homes. The service costs £36 a year (per bin) for fortnightly collections (maximum 25, with a 2-week Christmas shut down)

- How do I dispose of bulky items? – for large items such as sofas, you can ring the joint waste team on 0345 002 0022. Items can be collected from your home at a small cost. Items should only be put outside on the day of collection, not before.

- Why hasn’t my bin been emptied? – each household is issued with a black bin and a blue bin.
The black bin is for waste that cannot be recycled and food waste
The blue bin is for recyclable waste only (a full list of what can be put in each bin is available on our website).
If you do not use the bins correctly or mix the waste, they may not be collected.

Please make sure your bins are presented at the edge of your property, next to the adopted highway by 7am on the day of collection and taken in the same day.
