LEARNING TARGET: I Can Make Scaled Drawings to Represent Designs of Projects to Solve Problems

LESSON PLANS

7TH GRADE STEM

WEEK OF APRIL 10TH-14TH

MONDAY, APRIL 10TH

LEARNING TARGET: I can make scaled drawings to represent designs of projects to solve problems.

BELL RINGER: Students will retrieve their Soma Figures isometric drawings.

BEFORE: Teacher will give directions for isometric stain glass projects and help students to chose a figure that they would like to use for their project.

DURING: Students will choose the materials that they would like to use to make their project once they have determined what design they would like to do.

AFTER: Students will begin to work on their projects.

ASSESSMENT: none.

TUESDAY, APRIL 11TH

LEARNING TARGET: I can make scaled drawings to represent designs to projects to solve problems

BELL RINGER: Students will retrieve their projects.

BEFORE: Teacher will check progress on projects and address any challenges that students may be having with isometric stain glass projects.

DURING AND AFTER: Students will complete isometric stain glass projects and frame them with cardstock.

ASSESSMENT: Isometric stain glass projects.

WED, APRIL 12TH

LEARNING TARGET: I can make scaled drawings to represent designs of projects to solve problems

BELL RINGER: Students will list the metric prefix for the metric scaled from thousand to thousandth

BEFORE: Teacher will check the answers to the bell ringer to check for understanding.

DURING: Teacher will go over the metric scale and guide students as they convert metric units to other metric units with the help of the metric scale.

AFTER: Students will complete practice in class with converting metric units to other metric units with the help of the metric scale without help from teacher.

ASSESSMENT: independent practice: converting metric units to other metric units.

THURSDAY, APRIL 13TH

LEARNING TARGET: I can use metric and English system of units to make scaled drawings of designs to solve problems.

BELL RINGER: Students will convert five different metric units into other metric units with the help of the metric scale provided by teacher.

BEFORE: Teacher will check the answers to the bell ringer to check for student understanding.

DURING: Students will be give task to accomplish in groups of two using a meter stick. They will measure various objects in the room using their meter stick.

AFTER: student will then take their metric units and convert them into other metric units using the metric scale.

ASSESSMENT: Group activity: METRIC MEASURING AND CONVERSION.

FRIDAY, APRIL 14TH

TEACHER PROFFESSIONAL WORKDAY – NO STUDENTS
