drawings

Accidents, fatality, loss time incidents.
Job loading M/C shifting
4.0 Applicability:- This is applicability for Machine Shop area in TRF works
5.0 Responsibility:- Machine men , Line managers , & its associated personnel

6.0 General Requirement : -
6.1  NO PERSONNEL ARE TO USE THIS EQUIPMENT PRIOR TO:
·  Understanding & knowing the correct operation of machine.
·  Reading the standard operating procedure
·  Undergoing thorough practical training
·  Must have operated the machine independently in presence of senior
Machine men.
·  Senior machine men must have the concurrence for his independent
Operation , this is to be ensured by line managers
: Use of correct PPE is must
7.0  Pre-Start Checks : -
7.1 Pre-Start Check up to ensure safe operation
·  Switch on the machine
·  Check up and down movement of ARM
·  Cheek to & for movement of carriage
·  Cheek locking of Arms.
·  Cheek the level of coolant in the tank if necessary top up
·  Cheek functioning of machine lamp
·  Lubricate the moving parts such as arm and carriage

8.0  Setting of job :-
·  Job is to be loaded either on table or directly on the machine bed or in the pit provided depending on the shape and size of job.
·  Clamp the job
·  Cheek the clamping after setting.
·  Carry out drilling operation as required.
9.0  Operation :-
·  Carry out drilling operation as required.
·  Pilot hole is to be drilled in care of drill hole greater than ø 25.0 MM
·  In care of using drill figs cheek the locating dia of jig and that of job and in any case clearance should not be more that 0.1 MM
·  Cheek the bore dia of jig bush and in case of damage or over size it is to be replaced
·  After drilling operation Stop spindle unlock Arm and move it away from job, remove drill-shift unclamp job and unload.
·  Operator must always use safety appliances such us goggles and hand gloves
·  When the machine is in operation the use of hand gloves is prohibited
v  OPERATOR MUST ALWAYS KEEP THEIR HANDS AND ARMS WELL CLEAR
OF THE ROTATING SPINDLE.

10.0  Closing Down the machine :-
·  Switch off the main power supply.
·  Clean up chips from machine bed & job
v  Always wear gloves when cleaning up chips
11.0  PORTABLE DRILL MACHINES
Handling :- For any handling of machine following things must be
followed
·  Position of column and Arm should be in balanced condition
·  It must be disconnected form input power source
·  Machine must be directly lifted and positioned with hook of the crane.
OPERATIONS :-
·  Machine must be positioned on flat surface
·  If kept on some plateform or on some block the base must be made rigid.
·  While positioning the universal head the required nut must be loosened and after its positioning it must be tightened.
·  Use of safety belt and Operators plate form is to be used which working at heights.
·  Drilling operation is to be done as per procedure descried earlier.
