  1. To punctually attend all lab and clinical days for this course in professional attire and with a professional attitude.
  2. To complete all tasks given in clinical between January 15th and my midterm review within their required time frames and, if problems arise, be honest and ask for assistance or instruction in order to complete those tasks.

How will I know that I have achieved my goal?
  1. I will have completed this goal when I have attended every lab and clinical day this term (January 15-April 2nd) and have received confirmatory feedback from my client, supervisor and lab instructor regarding my punctuality, and professional attire and attitude.
  2. I will have completed this goal when I have received a midterm review showing I have completed all tasks given to me to my supervisor’s satisfaction, maintained honest communication regarding my difficulties completing them, and asked for help at appropriate times.

  1. To complete 1 new skill from labs 1-4 5 times successfully in the clinical settingbefore the end of term.
  2. To become knowledgeable in the Ontario protocols regarding contact and droplet precautions and demonstrate this knowledge whenever the need arises in clinical this term (ends April 2nd).

  1. This will require:
  • Preparatory readings and assignments for labs 1-4 (ongoing until end of lab 4)
  • Attending and successfully completing labs 1-4 (ongoing until end of lab 4)

Lab 1: Made an unoccupied bed
Lab 2: Helped with oral hygiene care
Lab 3: Created a SOAP/SOAPIE note
Lab 4: Taken a blood pressure

  1. To help a peer use a mechanical lift instead of performing a manual one 5 times before the end of term in order to prevent unnecessary musculoskeletal injuries.
