1.  Knowledge:

2.  Skills
2.1. Applying Knowledge and Understanding:
2.1.1. Access sources of information on organisations, services, education and training opportunities and follow good working practices in the salon
2.1.2. Deal with hazards within area of responsibility, handle, use and store products, materials, tools and equipment safely. Dispose of all types of salon waste safely. Follow salon policy for security
2.1.3 Advise and establish client’s requirements and consult their records. Create a manner that gives confidence and trust.
2.1.4 Select the suitable products to cleanse and condition hair and scalp and use working methods that meet salon requirements
2.1.5 Use cutting techniques to create a finished cut that is to the satisfaction of the client
2.1.6 Select and use styling products, finishing products, tools and equipment to achieve the desired effect and dress hair to the satisfaction of the client
2.1.7 Select and apply colour that meet with the salon requirements and to the satisfaction of the client. Mix, apply and monitor the development of the colour accurately following manufacturer’s instructions.
2.1.8 Use sectioning and winding techniques, prepare and apply perm lotion and monitor the development accurately following manufacturer’s instructions
