The Immunization Card and other resources are also available.

Monthly Dog Project meetings (3rd Monday of each month @ Ext. Office-Bison Room- NO Dogs) These are educational meetings or activities for 4H members. Please watch emails or Facebook: Sedgwick Co Dog Project.

If you are interested in training your dog, see below. You should plan to start training in January. Do not wait until March to add this project, as you will have missed lots of important training lessons.

Dog Training Classes (Obedience, Rally O, and Showmanship) Classes will be held on Thursday evenings at 6:30 from Jan 29 through July in the 4H Hall at the Extension Center. There will also be training in August and September for those going to State Fair. Trainers: Karen Riedmiller (316-519-8566), Julie Ghere (258-7289), Charles Johnson (393-2832). All dogs must have required vaccinations when attending training classes and participating at shows.

Agility Training Classes (dogs must be 12 mo. or older and have successfully completed an obedience class): classes are usually held once a month on Sunday @ 2 or 3pm @ Extension Center starting Feb. 8 thru September. Parents need to be present to assist with equipment and training.

Fundraiser: AKC Sunflower Cluster Dog Show Pooper Scooping @ Coliseum Pavilion on April 3-6. Participation is required to receive a scholarship to Dog Conference.

Dog Shows in Kansas: Many counties offer a variety of shows throughout the year. Fliers are posted on www.sedgwick.ksu.edu, or www.kansas4h.org / 4H dog events or thru the dog newsletter (email).

State Dog Event: Dog Conference is a 2-day event held at the Rock Springs 4H Center in October. It includes workshops on topics such as obedience, dog behaviors, herding, new dog events, quiz bowl, GPS scavenger hunts

Awards: Showmanship Award (top 3 scores in showmanship throughout the year) and Award for top County KAP in dog project work. There is a state scholarship named the Keith Neuway Scholarship for high school graduating dog members.
