LEARN TO SKATE at RIT

For skaters ages 3-5 and 6-adults

Our Learn-To-Skate Program is nationally recognized & developed byUS Figure Skating. Lessons are held during PublicSkate, safely behind a coned off area. Each lessonis 20 minutes long with 2 hours practice time. Classes are offeredSundaysfrom 12:15-2:15pm & 2:30-4:30pmOne Saturday session 2:30-4:30. Our program is specialized for both little skaters ages 3-5 with their grown-up (Snowplow Sam) and bigger skaters ages 6 to Adult (Basic Skills Level 1-8). It’s fun for the whole family!

All Learn-To-Skate Participants will receive a US Figure Skating Achievement Certificate and USFigure Skating Level Badge if achieved. Please note: A helmet is required for ages 3-5 year olds.

Session Fee: $80.00 (6 week session)includes lesson, 2 hours of practice time and admission to the rink. Rental Skates are free the first day of classes! After that, skate rental is available for $3 per pair. Make-up classes are available within our offered lesson schedule.Registration Deadlineis the Wednesday before your session begins and is on a “first come” basis. You may register by mail or by phone. I understand that participation in RIT’s Learn-To-Skate Program entails inherent risks, including but not limited to muscle strains, cuts and bruises and broken bones. I am fully aware of the risks and hazards associated with the Program and hereby consent to my involvement in it. I voluntarily assume full responsibility for any risks of loss, property damage or personal injury, including death, that I sustain arising from my involvement in the Program. In consideration for RIT allowing me to participate in the Activity, I agree to release RIT, its officers, trustee, employees, agent and volunteers (the Releasees) from any and all liabilities, claims, demands, actions, causes of actions, costs and expenses of any nature whatsoever which arise out of any loss, damage, or injury, including death arising from my participation in the Program or while I am on the RIT premises, excepting those claims arising from the gross negligence or willful misconduct of the Releasees.

If the participant is a minor: I affirm that I am the parent or legal guardian of the participant and give permission for his/her participation in the Program. We have both read the statement above about the risks inherent in the Learn-To-Skate Program and voluntarily assume full responsibility for any losses, damages, injuries, including death that may arise from the participants’ involvement in the activity. We agree to release the Releasees mentioned above from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, costs and expenses of any nature arising from such participation.

It is my express intent that this agreement shall bind me, the participant, and the members of my family and spouse (if any), my heirs and administrators and assigns. Signature required on front side of this form of either Adult Participant or Parent or Legal Guardian if participant is a minor.
