Student is forced to complete a competency exam on syllabus and other class expectations before they begin class / Student completes the competency exam. / Upon achieving a grade determined by instructor, the course opens for viewing. / CMS will lock lessons from view until exam is completed with score of 100%
Student does not attend class / Absent for one week after enrollment date. / Email to student internal and external email reminding to attend class. eMail to instructor notifying instructor that the student is absent. / After one week of student inactivity, an internal and external email is generated to both student and faculty. Student email, from the instructor, reminds the student of the important of regular attendance. Faculty email notifies the faculty that the student, named in the email, has not class for a week. This is repeated each time the CMS detects that the student has not attended.
Student has not read email / Has not read email in three days / Email to student internal and external email reminding to read email. eMail to instructor notifying instructor that the student has not read email / On the fourth day, the faculty receives an internal and external email that the student has not read an email. Lessons may be locked until the email is reviewed.
Student is not meeting faculty defined checkpoints / Student enrollment and completion of lessons not occurring as predicted. / Student receives internal and external email encouraging the student to complete lessons in a timely way based on class enrollment and on criteria set by development team. Instructor receives internal and external email that the student has not met the goals of defined checkpoints. / CMS matches the time in the class with defined checkpoints. For example, if the development believes that by day 50 the student should have completed lesson 3, but has not, CMS will send an internal and external email to the student reminding and encouraging the student to move forward.
Student is not meeting performance measures defined by faculty / Student is not performing at the levels considered by development team to be high enough for student success in the class / Instructor receives internal and external email with information that student is not meeting expected performance standards determined by development team. CMS will disenroll student from current pathway or team and redirect learning to prescribed pathway or team delivering specific learning content. / CMS monitors specific grades and overall performance of each student. When a student falls short of a performance goal on a single test, or is not meeting performance goals overall, the CMS generates an internal and external email to Faculty with specific student and grade information. Email will also include student contact information for faculty to contact student by phone. CMS will redirect learner.
Monitor student behavior to verify student activity / Faculty wants to review the activity of student to verify when a student has completed a task and how long it took to complete a task. / Faculty can view student first log date and time, time that a quiz or submitted assignment, and amount of time for each activity. / CMS will generate a daily report on all student activities and performance and deliver to faculty by external email each day.
