- As previously agreed, hard copies of minutes and agendas will not be available at meetings and attendees are advised to print a copy off from the web site in advance of each meeting if they require them.
4 - Items arising from the last meeting (not agenda listed)
- None- but the Secretary reminded all of the new rules that came into force at this year’s AGM:
- Rule 15.5 has changed from: ‘Teams playing in the first division will play on Thursday nights with the possible exception of where there are more than 2 teams from that club in that division’ to: ‘Teams playing in the first division will normally play on Thursday nights. Exceptions may be made to ensure the continuity and smooth running of the league’
- Rule 32.1 has been changed from including “cards to reach the Secretary by 4pm on Monday following the match” to read “Both captains must ensure that their score cards reach the League Secretary no later than 24 hours after the conclusion of their match” and finally:
- Rule 32.2 was changed to read “Emails or text messages including a photo or scanned copy of the scorecards are acceptable proof of scores and personal delivery of cards to the home address of the Secretary are only accepted prior to 10.15pm”.
5 - Disciplinary / Matters of Dispute / New Registrations
- This meeting is effectively the league formation meeting and the Secretary therefore asked each club in turn to detail how many teams would be entered in the league for the 2012-13 season and then the captain’s details for each team entered.
- The Secretary reminded all present that League rule 5.5 states: “The management committee will vote to accept or reject any such teams and names presented and, as those rejected will not be part of the new season’s league and thereby subject to it’s rules, there will be no right to appeal on said decision” and further added that all captains are reminded of their personal, team and club responsibilities so that issues, incidents and other matters brought to the committees attention last season do not arise again this year as such matters will be dealt with expeditiously and seriously:
- Brook Street – 2 teams – A team captain Andy Long; B team – Ashley Parker
- Mere – 3 teams – A team - Geoff Owen; B team - Tom Jackson; C team - Philip Simpson

- With all existing teams (albeit Brook Street C / Knutsford Cons B are now Mobberley E) re-entering the league, as previously agreed, this season the league will be made up of 2 divisions with 10 teams in division 1 and 9 teams in division 2 playing each other in three cycles = 27 (or 24 + 3 bye weeks) of actual matches.

6 - Items notified to Secretary prior to meeting
- The Secretary said that he was sad to report to the members that Life Member of the league, and previous sponsor of the Redwood Hire Champions Trophy, Steve Redwood passed away suddenly on the 12th of June. A brief discussion followed and it was agreed that the competition should remain in its present name as a memorial to Steve who, although not having played in the league for a few years, was an avid supporter of it and will be sadly missed by all who knew him and our support and thoughts go out to his nearest and dearest. The Secretary, and many other league members, attended his funeral to show our support. If a new sponsor for the event was found then the committee will discuss a way forward for their appropriate involvement.
- The Treasurer had encountered issues receiving certain teams final season league fees once again and the league officers agreed to a debate on this avoidable and unnecessary matter. It was agreed that it is not up to the league to decide internal club matters but it is for the league – and this meeting – to determine what should be done when teams persist on not fulfilling their obligations to the league. It was suggested that league fee invoices be issued 4 times (every 7 weeks) this season. Those invoices would be issued to teams 2 weeks before each 7 week period and give teams a further 2 weeks grace to pay. That means invoices being issued in weeks 5 (pay by the end of week 9); 12 (pay by week 16 end); 19 (pay by week 23 end);25 (pay by the end of the week after the season ends). The penalty for non-payment (without exceptional excuse) will be discussed at a future meeting – subject to the success or otherwise of this new process. Agreed by all.
