The course:
Leadership Training Advancedis designed to equip trainees for senior leadership within a church, with a strong emphasis on the skills required for preaching and teaching responsibilities.
At the London Training Base we are developing a new form of Leadership Training Advanced which includes all the previously valued modules and adds to them, with further attention given to preaching skills and two full modules dealing with leadership issues. A weekend with the focus on marriage in ministry is another new feature. The marriage weekend only occurs every other year and if you are not married then you have the option of not attending this weekend. Please note; the marriage weekend costs arenotincluded in the fees.
The course combines a seminar formatwith interactive teaching from experienced leaders.As well as attending the course training days, participants are expected to carry out pre-reading for modules and to complete assignments according to schedule.
Training:
There are 48 days to the training programme over the two year course, plus the marriage weekend. The training days areWednesday, Thursday and Friday, and will be held at the Lee site of King’s Church,21 Meadowcourt Rd, London SE3 9EU.
To travel by train go to either Lee or Blackheath stations – the building is equidistant between them (they are on different rail routes from central London) and there is then a 10 - 15 minute walk – depending on your pace! – to the Lee building. If you decide to come by car there is a private underground car park accessed from Osborn Terrace. Do not park in Meadowcourt Rd as it is resident permit parking only.

Applications:
The closing date for applications isFriday3rd May 2013.
All applicants are normally based in a Newfrontiers church but applicants from other churches will be considered. You will need to discuss the application with the leaders of your church or its apostolic oversight, as all applicants for the course must be recommended by their local leadership.
We will contact you to arrange a time and venue for an interview once your completed application form is received. Please note that before an interview can take place, we will need to have received theapplication form and a reference from your church leader.
Cost:
The fees for the first year will be £1195 plus £17 per night for accommodation if required. Cheques are payable to King’s Church, Catford.
There will also be an additional charge for the Marriage Weekend, which happens in alternate years in the early spring and isconsidered a vital part of the course.The next onetakes place in thisacademic year (2013 – 2014) - see dates above.It is anticipated that the costof this will be about £340 per couple and it is hoped/expected that the trainee’s church will either cover this cost completely – or contribute significantly towards it.
Other information:
It is helpful if your church leadership understands that there is a mentoring element involved in the training. If your leaders are not able to provide suitable mentoring, please let us know as soon as possible so we may help you find suitable arrangements. We would be very happy to chat through with them what this involves, if that is helpful.
Completion of Newfrontiers Leadership Training does not guarantee paid full-time employment. If your future is not clear to those responsible for your supervision on the course, we will be happy to discuss any concerns you have in order to effectively make future plans.
