LCVA’s Art after Dark presents: Sweeping Up

Have you ever wanted to take a piece of an exhibition home? Now you can!

LCVA is excited to present its next Art after Dark program:Sweeping Up. Join Susan Jamison, the artist featured in the LCVA’s exhibition Super Natural: Susan Jamison for a gallery talk and stay to help Jamison“sweep up” disassemble her installation Feathers and Weights. All participants will be able to take a piece of the installation with them.

Super Natural: Susan Jamisonis a site-specific exhibition and installation that speaks to the universal act and nature of instinctive personal rituals, and references sources as varied as nature guides, fairy tales, and myths. In addition to the egg tempera works for which she is primarily known, Jamison’sSuper Naturalis rendered in natural, organic materials including silk, earth and powdered milk.

Art after Dark replaces the formal “lecture” format normally associated with museums with interdisciplinary activities such as this art workshop. The evening gatherings have a relaxed atmosphere that encourages engaging conversation. All activities are completely free of charge and are made possible in part through the very generous support of the Walter J. Payne Foundation, the TR June H. Guthrie Trust, and the Rock Foundation.

Sweeping Up takes place in the lower level of LCVA on Wednesday, January 11.

Doors open at 6:00pm for refreshments and the program begins at 6:30pm. This program is free and open to the public. No registration is required.
