LCPS Proudly Presents the 2010-11 All County Guitar Festival, March 17-19

Loudoun County Public Schools is proud to present the annual LCPS All-County Guitar Festival. More than 450 middle school and high school students from across Loudoun County, will participate in two days of workshops. The CGQ will work with the high school divisions while Mr. Parris will work with the Middle School students. This year’s additional clinicians include Dr. Danielle Cumming, Ricardo Marlow, Jason Pickard, and ellen cherry.

Thursday, March 17th – Canadian Guitar Quartet free concert at 7 p.m., Loudoun County HS

Friday, March 18th - Middle School All-County Guitar Ensemble rehearsals, Belmont Ridge MS

Saturday, March 19th - Guitar clinics, Ensemble Coachings, and LCPS Guitar Ensemble performances (12:45 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.) at Potomac Falls High School in Sterling, VA

Hailed as " a player of great sensitivity and refinement" (Soundboard magazine), guitarist John Michael Parris has been consistently praised by audiences and critics throughout the United States and abroad. In 2002 he received the U.S. Department of Education’s National Teacher Recognition Award, and in 2003 the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts Teacher Recognition Award for his students’ achievements in state, regional, and national competitions. He was voted Florida Studio Teacher of the Year 2004, by the state division of the American String Teachers Association. He is currently Fine Arts Chair and Director of Classical Guitar Studies at Tampa’s Blake School of the Arts
