Week 1: Introduction to Project; Group Brainstorming

04.02.08 / Assignment: Read and complete course materials emailed by professor.
In class: Group brainstorming session; divide into groups; define tasks; start working.
Week 2: Progress Report I

04.09.08 / Assignment: By 9 p.m. the night before (Tuesday night before class), each group must: (1) email to the class listserv an informal summary of research completed so far, attaching (or citing) any documents whole class should read; and (2) email my secretary and me your weekly timesheet. Additionally, prepare a short presentation of findings so far and what your group needs to do next.
In class: Presentations; group discussions; work on next steps.
Week 3:Progress Report II

Week 5: Memo Revision and Public Presentations

04.30.08 / Assignment: Prepare draft memo. Please bring 3 hard copies to class for revision and critique.
In class: Round-robin peer review of memos; group discussion regarding how each memo fits into the group topic/project; introduction to public presentations.
Week 6: Individual Revisions
Wednesday
05.07.08 / Assignment: Revise memos and prepare panel presentations
In class: No classes—work independently
Week 7: Final Memo and Panel Presentations
Monday
05.12.08 / Assignment: Turn in final version of memo by 9:00 a.m. on Monday, May 12, 2008.
Panel Presentations: Students shall participate in a panel discussion that presents the information from the memos. The timing of these panels is TBA due to scheduling and room demands for UWLS.
Once you have given your panel presentation, please submit your self-evaluation by 9:00 a.m. the following morning to my secretary and me via email.
