Dear Latina/o Greek Sororities and Fraternities:

The University of Maryland LATIN@ HERITAGE MONTH Planning Committee in partnership with the Coalition of Latino Student Organizations, the Latino Student Union, and La Unidad Latina, Lambda Upsilon Lambda Fraternity, Inc. would like to invite you to the LATIN@ GREEK STEP & STROLL COMPETITION: VIVO Y A TODO COLOR taking place on October 6, 2012 in the Nyumburu Cultural Center Amphitheater at 6:30 p.m. Teams will be required to arrive much earlier for walk-through and orientation (at 4pm).

The main purpose of the LATIN@ GREEK STEP & STROLL COMPETITION: VIVO Y A TODO COLOR is to invite regional Greek Organizations to partake in celebrating unity in the Latino community during Latina/o Heritage Month at the University of Maryland, College Park Campus. Though the title of the event does not explicitly state it, we do welcome Latina/o organizations that salute. The Latina/o Greek community at UMD is small (but mighty) and this show will be the perfect opportunity for the greater campus community to see the wonderful variety of Latina/o Greeks in the region. WE NEED YOUR HELP! In order for this step and stroll competition to be a success we need the support of all Greeks and social fellowships in the DC-MD-VA Region and beyond, be it through entering a team in the competition or joining fellow Greeks for a great night out with your organization. Please come out and represent your fraternity, sorority, fellowship, or your individual chapter.

Be sure to register online at:

Online you will find the application form, a team contract, the step & stroll show agenda, directions to the University of Maryland, College Park, and the step & stroll show regulations. Each team must submit all required documentation along with their non-refundable $100 registration fee no later than September 20, 2012. Cancellation notices must be received no later than 10 days prior to the event date.

Thank you for your enthusiasm and support. We look forward to your participation in this exciting event. If you have questions or concerns please contact Judy Martinez, Coordinator of Latina/o Student Involvement & Advocacy at 301.314.5822 or via email at .
