2008/2009 Senior EM Resident Program

EmCare is pleased to again offer an exciting educational opportunity to senior level Emergency Medicine residents. The purpose of this program is to offer the opportunity to learn about contract negotiations, hospital opportunity evaluations, financial pro forma development, successful QA/CQI programs, risk management, and other vital aspects of a successful emergency medicine practice.

Residents have attended from programs such as Albert Einstein Med. Ctr.-New Jersey, Advocate Christ Medical Center, Beth Israel Medical Center, Brooklyn Hospital Center, Charity Hospital, Johns Hopkins University, Lincoln Medical Center, Medical College of Georgia, Michigan State University, Mount Sinai School of Medicine, St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital-NY, St. Vincent Medical Center, SUNY Upstate, TX Tech Univ. Health Sciences, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, University Health Center of Pittsburgh, University of Arizona, University of California–Davis, University of California– Irvine, University of Florida Health Science Ctr. University of Michigan, University of Louisville, University of Texas–Southwestern and many others. We feel this program will help fulfill the RRC requirement for additional hours in practice management/administrative development. The program is evaluated by every resident participant and has been described as the following:

The attached agenda outlines the topics that will be presented. These topics are presented by EmCare directors, managers and physicians and reflect the feedback and preferences of previous resident participants. At no time will any recruiting or other enticements be allowed – this program is strictly educational. The three-day program will take place at the EmCare office in Dallas, Texas. EmCare will provide lodging (Monday night arrival through Thursday morning checkout) during the program (incidentals are not covered), breakfast and lunch each day, and one group dinner. The only expenses to the participants will be transportation costs and remaining evening meals.
