ABOUT PILAR GOLF

Piero Vara, a businessman from Italy, was the visionary behind Pilar Golf, which was designed by The Ronald Fream Design Group Ltd. It´s an American-style golf course with 27-holes. Construction began in 1992 with paving and infrastructure, and in 2000 the nine-hole along with the luxurious and comfortable Club House (5,000 sq. meters), which includes a Family House. In just over a year more, 50 houses were built around it.The property also owns a modern fleet of 70 golf carts with GPS.

In late 2004, the first edition of the Piero Vara Charity Cup was held in honor of its founder. In 2006 and 2011, Pilar Golf hosted the Argentina Open, the most important professional tournament in the region. Serving as host was as a huge honor for the institution and helped build a mutually beneficial relationship with the Argentina Golf Association (AAG).In 2011, Pilar Golf and the AAG built a 600 sq. meter practice building that is used bythe AAG’sHigh-Performance Center. In no time, Pilar Golf became the preferred location for the development of private tournaments.

For its 20th anniversary, Pilar Golf made several renovations to maximize its amenities, including an agreement with top chef Jean Paul Bondoux, who, with his partner Jerome Mathe, and through his signature southern cuisine, now manage the Club House restaurant, The Old English Pub. Another recent development is the construction of a Hilton brand hotel with 170 rooms and 130 residential apartments. The hotel is expected to open within three years and will position Pilar Golf as a destination course, excelling in luxury, quality and good service.
