Dear participants in "Space, Haunting, Discourse,"

All participants - including session organizers, chairs and people who present in the sessions - have to register and pay the conference fee. We have kept the conference fee - which includes the reception, two lunches, and the dinner on Saturday, among other things - low in order to give everybody a chance to attend the conference: EUR 110 /SEK 1000 (EUR 77/SEK 700 for graduate/doctoral students). The conference hotels offer conference participants inexpensive rates. To register, please complete the on-line registration form on the conference homepage: The last date to register is 15 May, 2006, after which we will remove unregistered delegates from the conference program and post an updated program. ("Sessions" are continually updated.)

Hotel reservation

The Conference Administration will make all hotel reservation according to the requests made on the web registration form. The hotels listed below offer reduced rates for conference delegates. Payment is to be settled directly with the hotels, which honour all major credit cards. For further information about the hotels, see or for maps of the city

The quoted prices are for single/double rooms per night and include breakfast and VAT.

Elite Stadshotellet. Rate per night: SEK 832/1073

Ibis Hotel Accor. Rate per night: SEK 640/695

For questions regarding hotel reservations, contact the Conference Administration,

All rooms that will be used for the different sessions at Karlstad University are equipped with an OH projector and a TV set with a VCR. (However, they are not equipped with computer, LCD-projector, and Internet access, for instance. This type of equipment can be arranged on request.) Note that North-American videotapes are not compatible with European video recorders, but need to be converted into the European format. There might be problems with other non-European videotapes and DVDs, too. Participants who would like to use electronic equipment for a presentation, or have any questions related to electronic equipment and support, should contact Maria Wåhlström Bäcke as soon as possible:

We hope to see you in Karlstad in June!

Sincerely,
Maria Holmgren Troy and Elisabeth Wennö, conference organizers
