Integrating HICAPS into TM2.

Requirements

Latest TM2 Version 2010 (Update via website)

HICAPS Terminal + Spam Adapter (Refer to HICAPS for these)

HICAPS Connect Install (Provided by HICAPS)

HICAPS TM2 Plugin Files (Available via website)

Note: Ensure TM2 is NOT is use on any Machine at time of install.

Step one - Updating your systems.

To support the latest HICAPS TM2 Plugin all your TM2 Machines and Server must be updated to the latest version (2010.12.101.23).

Note: Visit KBase Article KB00486 to see instruction on how to upgrade your TM2 Machines.

Step Two- Installing Plugin Files on Server Machine

The TM2 HICAPS Plugin file needs to be run on your server machine so your database is updated with the correct data information.

Note: The installation on your sever machine will differ to what’s required for your client machines.(Especially the one connected to a Terminal)

-Run the HICAPS Plugin Setup.exe file on your Server Computer

-Choose the appropriate stock item codes for your practice (These are HICAPS stock codes so they know what you’re claiming, each discipline will require different codes)

-Finish the installation on your sever by clicking through the prompts.

-Once you have installed the Plugin with appropriate codes on your server computer you will then need to start on the Client Machines that will be using HICAPS.

Note: If you are upgrading from a previous version of the HICAPS TM2 Plugin, DO NOT select any previously installed stock item codes as this will create duplicates.

Step Three – Installing Plugin on Client Machine(s)

The TM2 HICAPS Plugin file is required to be installed on any machine that will be using the HICAPS claim feature when processing.

-Run the same HICAPS Plugin Setup.exe file used on the Server machine on each client machine.

Note: You will not need to select stock codes for Client Machine installs; all that is required is the TM2 HICAPS Files (First Check box)

-Complete the installation by clicking through the prompts.

Step Four – Install HICAPS Connect on main HICAPS using Computer

HICAPS Connect is the program used to communicate between the terminals (Keypad) and TM2 Practice Management Software. HICAPS Connect will need to be installed on each Machine with a Terminal Directly connected to it via USB.

Note: HICAPS provides this Connect software; any troubleshooting in regards to its setup is to be directed to HICAPS

-Download the HICAPS connect file from our website

-Run HICAPSConnect.exe on the machine connected directly to a terminal.

-Make sure HICAPS connect is able to see communicate with the attached Terminal.

Note:Will appear yellow in task bar if computer is connected to a terminal.

-Please discuss any issues regarding HICAPS connect with HICAPS themselves. The Connect software is in direct correlation with their terminal.

Step Five – Turning on Integration & Chooseing the default terminal.

Once you have installed all the setup files required to get HICAPS integrated in TM2 you now need to setup your Groups, Practitioners and Stock items for claiming purposes.

The following needs to be set up.

-Groups with links to Health fund codes

-Practitioners linked to their Provider Numbers

-Stock items linked to HICAPS stock codes
