Canberra Update
Last minute reminders / information
Dear Parents
With very few sleeps left until our Canberra excursion we hope the following information will assist your final preparations.
Pocket Money – Fantastic News
As a result of our ongoing negotiations with our venues, accommodation and food providers, we have been able to secure additional savings for all families. This will be passed on by providing all Canberra students with $100 pocket money for the camp. As a result, please do not provide your child with additional money. We are very excited and pleased to have reduced the overall expense to parents.
Canberra Jacket
We have provided each child with their Canberra jacket. Please be assured we took a lot of time measuring students for these jackets and our aim was to provide a jacket that matched the size of their current school jacket. We have requested that all children put their name on the white tag inside the jacket or another place if this tag has come off or has been removed so that they can be identified if mixed up with other jumpers. Alternatively you may have some labelling system at home which you may be able to use. The students need to wear these jackets to school on Monday 14th Nov.
Uniforms
We remind parents that all students are expected to wear their school uniform on Thursday when we visit Parliament House and the War Memorial. This includes their School Jumper not their Canberra Jacket.
Make-up
Make-up is not allowed at school as part of the School’s Dress Code policy. Make-up will not be permitted on camp either.
Medication
All students who have medication requirements for the camp need to provide their medication in a clearly labelled plastic zip lock bag to be safely stored by staff. Again, this can be done on Monday morning if not done beforehand.
Communication
Using the school’s Facebook page, we will send messages to parents to keep them informed of our progress during the week. This will be done each morning.
Electronic Devices
Again, we remind parents that we do not want mobile phones, i-pods or Nintendo’s to come on camp with us.
Cold Weather
Next week’s weather is going to average around 5 degs C at night and 22 degs C during the day.

Canberra Journals
Each child has been provided with a journal to record key educational outcomes from the excursion. We will pack these in their luggage or their carry on luggage (back packs) when the get to school on Mon 14th Nov. They will need a lead pencil, sharpener, ruler and eraser to fill in their journals. We will provide scissors and glue sticks for students to use while away. We would like parents assistance in helping to cover the journals so they remain in great condition for a long time as these will serve as lasting mementos of this trip.

- Friday 4th November following assembly at 9.30
- Monday 7th November at 8.40am
