April 17th, 2015 – for immediate release

Last chance to save on three full days of historic motorsport entertainment

Advance discounted ticket sales for the 2015 Donington Historic Festival close at 5pm on Wednesday, April 29th, so time is running out to secure significant savings on the on-the-gate prices.

With 20 races for cars from the 1990s back to the 1920s, displays and demonstrations of Grand Prix and Supercars through the decades, plus live historic rally car action, this hugely popular international race meeting promises spectacular entertainment over the Bank Holiday weekend of May 2nd,3rd4th.

Prices have been held at the family-friendly levels from 2014, making on-the gate prices for the event outstanding value for money, and advance discounted tickets offer an even better deal. With under-16s going for free, a family of two adults and their children aged 15 or younger can attend on all three days for a total of just £90 (£120 on the gate).

For the first time, visitors will enter the Festival through Donington Park’s Exhibition Centre, where they will find displays of Formula 1 cars to mark the 80th anniversary of the 1935 Donington Grand Prix. The Exhibition Centre will also be home to a fascinating display of Supercars through the decades, and act as the paddock for the Group B and Historic Rally Car Register cars when they’re not putting on their spectacular displays on the Melbourne Loop. The Formula 1 and Supercars will have their own demonstration slots out on track each day, providing yet more entertainment.

Historic karts will also be returning to Donington Park, as will the splendid displays in the infield staged by dozens of car clubs. And outside the Exhibition Centre visitors will find an Autosolo experience, where they can experience autotesting from the passenger seat – which might prompt some of them to take up historic motorsport!

The racing promises to be even better than ever. This year’s Festival sees the first-ever round of the HSCC Jaguar Heritage Challenge, while the Historic Grand Prix Cars Association is bringing 1950s and ’60s Grand Prix cars to the Festival for the first time as part of a superb combined grid that also features Grand Prix cars from earlier decades.

‘Feature races’ include Saturday’s 2½ hour ‘1000km’ endurance race into the dusk, recreating the fabulous sports car battles of the early 1970s, Sunday’s ‘mini-enduro’ for the GT & Sports Car Cup for pre-66 GTs and pre-63 sports cars and Monday’s ‘Mad Jack’ race for Pre-War Sports Cars, which will echo the very earliest days of racing at the circuit.

Add to this two FJHRA/HSCC 'Silverline' Historic Formula Junior Championshipgrids and more single-seater action from the HSCC Historic Formula 2 cars, the Stirling Moss Trophy for pre-1961 sportscars and Royal Automobile Club Woodcote Trophy for pre-56 sports cars, and you have a fabulous racing line-up.

But it doesn’t end there. Touring Car fans will find something to entertain them on every day of the Festival, withthe one-hour U2TC, featuring pre-1966 under-two-litre Touring Cars, the HRDC ‘History of the BTCC 1958-1966’, HSCC Super Touring Carsfor Touring Cars from pre-1980 to the end of 1999, the Historic Touring Car Challenge for 1966-85 Touring Cars and the HRDC ‘Touring Greats’ grids.

Advance discounted tickets cost £20 for a single day ticket, £32 for a two-day ticket and just £45 for a three-day weekend ticket (on-the-gate prices will be £25, £40 and £60, respectively). Children aged under 16 are admitted for free. Advance discounted tickets can be bought via and through the 24-hour ticket hotline 0844 873 7355.
