Assessor Feedback:
1.1Very good explanation of development. A.A
1.2 Draft 1Your experience shows in the very thorough description of the preparation needed. (Really more detail than was needed but very good to read!) However you need to include the 3 stages in the FGC meeting and the reason for having a review. The question is about the essential components of the FGC model i.e. what allows us to identify it as a FGC. A.A
Draft 2 Very comprehensive answer. The trick here is to recognise that a key word in the question is analyse not describe. It’s good to read but you could save yourself some work! A.A 27/2/14
1.3 Draft 1Good start but you need to expand more – e.g. compare differences in whether or not the child/client attends and is supported; the definition of “family” used; and use of time for family to talk in private. A.A
Draft 2 Excellent. This is now a really good answer. A.A27/2/14
1.4Draft 1You have most of the main points (could have included increased involvement of paternal families, increase in cooperation, cohesiveness and problem solving skills in families) but you need to reference it – what studies showed this? – look at the course handbook for help on this. A.A
Draft 2 Would ideally have liked to see more references to various studies, but you have now met the criteria. A.A 27/2/14
1.5 Good answer.A.A
3.1 You could have included the requirement for voice of the child to be listened to, but otherwise you have everything needed. (I think you may have misunderstood “preventative agendas” – this is referring to preventing harm and preventing children being taken into care unnecessarily. You may want to delete the last paragraph).A.A
Sub 1: Good start – well written and shows your experience. Judging exactly what is needed for each question will get easier – sometimes your answers have been a bit sketchy, other times maybe more detail than required.
You do need to add a bibliography and make sure you reference.
It shouldn’t take too much work to bring this up to the standard, well done. A.A 15/2/14
Draft 2: This assignment is now complete and meets all the criteria. A.A 27/2/14

Learner Comments:
As an existing coordinator this was a fairly gentle start. However it reinforced some of the principles that are sometimes taken for granted. A very useful refresher!
