5.  Weekend Fuelbag Motion:

In consideration of the need for funds for the Weekend Fuelbag, we propose that the DPAC allocate $5200 from the 2016 - 2017 General Budget for their use.

Reports from Executives

2.  President’s Report: Submitted report to Mike Morgan, Aboriginal Enhancement Agreement as to DPAC’s participation; to include:

a)  Hosting Cecila Reekie to present both on Orange Shirt Day & Blanket Ceremony.

b)  As President, I sat in on a meeting for the Planning Committee for the Truth & Reconciling Ceremony.

c)  Was invited to be a “Witness” to the Enhancement Agreement.

d)  VP1, Bernice Kristoff-Trowel attended the Truth & Reciliation Weekend @ CLA.

e)  That this DPAC is the first DPAC to open our meetings acknowledging & recognizing the Territories we reside on.

1:1 Meeting w/Acting Superintendent, Gord Stewart:

Eye See Program: Amanda Slade (Instructional Services Teacher for Early Learning and Kindergarten) and Lisa Dolinski indicated that information went out to schools in the Fall and families have been accessing this great opportunity. Amanda is going to follow up with Kindergarten teachers as a reminder of this program since families have untilAugust 1stto access the benefits. We also plan to offer EyeCare to Kindergarten families next year though it is contingent on enough optometrists supporting the program.

Road Safety: Still in discussions with Gord and Suzanne’s at the 1:1s

·  Yorkson/RE Mountain Middle School Rep’s

·  LGTBQ:
1) At the district's request, Renge is preparing some LGBTQ+ material for the district website.

2) All schools will be getting a package of books on diversity, a suggested book list, and $200 with which to purchase books on diversity.

There's one more meeting for the year.

·  Inclusive Education: The meeting was mostly a “reporting” meeting with guest Ron Steer from LEC sharing on both Summer Session & LEC. Discussion to breaking out to a smaller “working committee” was discussed. Next Meeting: April 25

·  Emergency Preparedness

·  BCCPAC: BCCPAC have approached Suzanne on taking a position. She currently has brought to their attentions they are not following due process/point of order. No issue with subject matter just on process followed. WGSS & Aldergrove had students apply for BCCPAC scholarships but as PAC’s not member’s students disqualified. WGSS was allowed to late register but could not contact Aldergrove in time to rectify.

·  Richard Bulpitt Scholarship: 2 new parent volunteer readers
