Landscape Analysis – LA101

PURPOSE

The Landscape Analysis forms the data base from which the Landscape Concept is developed. (See LA 103 'Landscape Concept Guidelines'). It explores the opportunities and constraints for landscape / revegetation development throughout the road corridor; and identifies all relevant aspects and issues of the project.

GOAL

The goal of the Landscape Analysis is to provide sufficient information such that a Landscape Concept, which satisfies the general principles outlined in these guidelines, 'Greenways' Code of Practice and the Brief, can beproduced.

DOCUMENTATION

The output of the Landscape Analysis shall be :

Report : One paper copy, plus copy of electronic file, if available *.

Drawings : One set of paper prints, plus copy of electronic file, if available.*

* It is normally expected that report and drawing information will be available in electronic format

GENERAL

The Project Brief, 'Greenways' Code of Practice, this guideline, other relevant Guidelines and Technical notes shall be used as the basis for the Landscape Analysis. Reference from Greenways are as follows:

Stage 2.0Identifying Stakeholders Expectations.

Stage 3.0Evaluate Existing Landscape

Stage 4.0Identifying Potential Planting Sites

REPORT and DRAWINGS

The Landscape Analysis shall consist of a brief report and sketch drawings which are directly traceable to the issues as set out in the Project Brief, 'Greenways' Code of Practice, Landscape Guidelines and Technical Notes.

RESPONSIBILITIES (when work is carried out by a consultant)

The Consultant shall be responsible for:

Identifying all critical aspects of the project as set out in 'Greenways' Code of Practice and the Brief.

Preparing a report and drawings which reflect the findings of the Landscape Analysis and are in accordance with any mandatory hold points as set out in the Brief.

Presenting the Landscape Analysis to the Principal, Council and committee meetings as required.

Providing the Principal with a copy of the Landscape Analysis a minimum of one day prior tothe above presentation.

Making any amendments to the report or drawings which result from:

∗the Landscape Analysis presentation

and/or

∗the examination of the Landscape Analysis(see below)

The Principal shall beresponsible for:

examining and commenting on the Landscape Analysis within ten (10) working days followingthe Presentation.

NOTE :

On completion of the Landscape Analysis, no further project work shall be performed by theConsultant until approval is given by the Principal to proceed.
