MARYLAND LANDFILLS ACCEPTING ASBESTOS WASTE
The following is a list of landfills in Maryland that accept asbestos wastes. The Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) Asbestos Division at 410-537-3200 requires that you notify the landfill prior to disposal. MDE suggests you contact the landfill at least a 24 hours before disposal in order to allow the landfill operator time to prepare a site for burial.

b.the waste asbestos is unloaded carefully to prevent emission of fibers into the air as required in the NESHAPS 40 CFR Part 61, and specified in COMAR 26.11.21.06;
c.the area used for burial of asbestos shall be restricted to the working face of the lined municipal landfill.
