PREFACE

To Students and Parents:

The Lamar-Delta Disciplinary Alternative Education Program (DAEP) Student Handbook contains information that students and parents are likely to need during the student’s DAEP placement. Mission Statement

Our mission is to create a structured environment that will foster the development of appropriate social behavior, academic success and personal integrity for all students. We will strive to achieve our mission by modeling respect and responsibility. We will provide students an opportunity to complete coursework required for graduation.

(1)To provide appropriate instruction in a setting that emphasizes:

  1. A highly structured/supervised environment
  2. Strict enforcement of school rules

(2)To provide assistance and encouragement for students to:

  1. Correct their behavior, stressing that they are responsible for their actions
  2. Earn the privilege of returning to their regular school campus
  3. Learn to make short and long-range plans and goals
