Charlotte Knights Healthcare Scholarship Program (Presented by Carolinas HealthCare System) / June 1 / Applicant must be a high school senior, be attending an accredited institution of higher learning in the fall of 2016, have a cumulative unweighted GPA of a 3.3, have a minimum of a 1800 SAT score (2400 scale) or 1200 SAT score (1800 scale) or 26 ACT score, be a member of at least one sports team at your high school or related extracurricular activity, have shown heavy involvement in the community or multiple hours of volunteer experience, and declare a major within the healthcare field or have demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in the healthcare field.
Charlotte Knights STEM Scholarship Program (Presented by Piedmont Natural Gas) / June 1 / Applicant must be a high school senior, be attending an accredited institution of higher learning in the fall of 2016, have a cumulative unweighted GPA of a 3.3, have a minimum of a 1800 SAT score (2400 scale) or 1200 SAT score (1800 scale) or 26 ACT score, be a member of at least one sports team at your high school or related extracurricular activity, have shown heavy involvement in the community or multiple hours of volunteer experience, and declare a major within the STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math), or have demonstrated an interest in pursuing a career in these areas.
Danielle Elizabeth Liotta Memorial Humanitarian Scholarship / May 13 / This scholarship will honor and celebrate Danielle Liotta’s life. The recipient will be a graduating member of the LNHS Class of 2016 who plan to attend a four year college after graduation. Additionally, applicant should have a minimum 3.9 unweighted GPA, no discipline referrals, complete an application and provide a resume, have taken at least two upper level science classes (i.e. Chemistry, Physics, Anatomy, AP Bio, Chem, or Physics) and have earned three credits in a foreign language.
Danielle Elizabeth Liotta Memorial Marching Band Scholarship / May 13 / This scholarship will honor and celebrate Danielle Liotta’s life. The recipient will be a graduating member of the LNHS Class of 2016, planning to attend a four year college after graduation, and must have been a four year member of the LNHS Marching Band. Additionally, applicant should have a minimum 3.7 unweighted GPA, no discipline referrals, complete an application and provide a resume, have taken at least two upper level science classes (i.e. Chemistry, Physics, Anatomy, AP Bio, Chem, or Physics) and have earned three credits in a foreign language.
Horatio Alger National Career and Technical Scholarship Program / June 1 / Applicant must:
Have completed high school or plan to complete high school by Spring 2016 with plans to enroll at a community college for the first time by fall 2016; Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a career or technical program at an accredited non-profit community college in the United States; Demonstrated critical financial need (must be eligible to receive the Federal Pell grant as determined by completion of the FAFSA); Demonstrated perseverance in overcoming adversity; Be involved in community service activities; Be younger than 30 years old; Be a United States citizen

Varsity Tutors Scholarship Contest / Monthly awards / Varsity Tutors holds a monthly $1,000 college scholarship contest where students write an essay in response to a monthly prompt. Visitors to the Varsity Tutors scholarship webpage are able to vote via social media for submitted entries. The top five entries with the most votes are reviewed by Varsity Tutors at the end of the month and one winner is subsequently chosen to receive the $1,000 college scholarship.
