I work as a hostess in the mexican restaurant "El Azteca", I am also an active volunteer at school. I would like to participate in the School Governance Council because I want to be more informed and more involved in the decision making about my child's education.

I am a homemaker and mother of 4 kids. I would like to be more involved in what happens behind the curtains in my children school, and be part of important decisions related with their education.

At my previous school I served on the Governance Council for 4 years. I am committed to the work of the SGC and understand what a big impact in makes on the school and the community. I have helped write Seed Fund grants that were approved by the Fulton Foundation totaling over $250,000 and helped create a Parent Resource Library housed in our school building throughout the 2016-2017 school year. I have also assisted in writing Requests for Flexibility and served as the SGC Chair at my previous school for 2 years.

I have been teaching in Fulton County for 5 years. I am originally from Cleveland, Ohio. I have a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, TAG endorsement, Reading Endorsement, and a certification to teach P-5 grade. I currently teach TAG here at Lake Forest ES however, I have experience in all content areas in second grade, third grade, advance and accelerated, and I have taught a self-contain EIP class. I am also the school’s Lead Vanguard Technology Coach and currently pursuing my Science Endorsement through Fulton County Schools District. I transferred to Lake Forest ES from Stonewall Tell ES. Some of my experiences that I gained while working at Stonewall Tell ES; attended school governance council meetings, served on the Leadership Team, served on the Talented and Gifted Eligibility Team, Coordinator for the Cambridge International Exam Primary Program, served on the IB PYP Focus Team, and provided cycles of professional learning to teachers.I wish to serve on the School Governance Council here at Lake Forest ES because I think my experiences as a leader will make me an effective council member. I work well with others, I am organized, innovated and progressive. I will strive to work with all stakeholders to support our students and their families. I would like to serve as your teacher representative to ensure that the future direction of our school addresses what is best for our students and our community.
