The Officers, Past High Priestesses and Members of Tahuti Court No. 44 look forward to welcoming you to Tampa, Florida for the 99thGrand Council‘Palm Trees and Sea Breeze’ Sessionto be held from May 20, 2013 to May 25, 2013. We are fortunate that all activities are located in the Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel.

Hotel

The Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel will be our host. It is located on the waterfront at700 South Florida Avenuein downtownTampa, Florida. It is the perfect setting for the “Palm Trees and Sea Breeze” Session. Rooms are available at

$149.00 plus 12% tax for rooms up to four people. The enclosed hotel form allows you to make your reservation directly with the hotel. Register directly with the hotel at

RV Parks

There is a Lazy Days RV Park located at 6210 County Rd 579, Seffner, FL, which is just 12 miles away from the Marriott.

Pre-Registration

As stated in the Red Book, Article III, Section 9(a), it is mandatory to pre-register. The Registration fee prior to April 15, 2013 is $30.00(US) or $60.00 (US) after April 15, 2013. Cancellations must be made in writing at least 5 days prior to

Grand Council. There will be a $5.00 (US) service charge for any cancellation.

Transportation

The nearest airport to the hotel is the TampaInternationalAirport. The Tampa Marriott Waterside does not provide a shuttle to and from the airport. Transportation can be arranged at your cost by calling 1-800-258-3826 or supershuttle.com. The approximate fee for the shuttle per person based on 2 pieces of luggage is $14.00 one way or $24.00 round trip. Fee does not include gratuity. It is suggested that reservations be made at least 24 hours prior to traveling.

The Yellow Cab Co. at 1-813-253-0121, has an estimated cost of $25.00 from the airport to the hotel. Ground transportation can be found on either end of the baggage terminal.

Parking

Parking at the hotel is $20.00 per day. The Convention Center Parking which is less than 1 block away and provides undercover parking at $5.00 a day.

When placing your advertisement on the enclosed form, please remember to write your Name, Title (as of May 2013), Court Name and No. on the back of all photos for photo identification. In order for your advertisement to be included in the Official Grand Council Session Program Book, we must have your advertisement photo ready no later than March 1, 2013.

Exhibition Drills

The Exhibition Drills will start at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, May 22, 2013. Please fill out the enclosedform using names and titles as of May 2013.Drill practice will be held on Wednesday, May 22nd from 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM

Flip flop your way on over to the Tropical Treasures and Paradise Pleasures Fun Night on Monday, May 20, 2013. Have a great evening of fun, frolic and festivities. No Fez.

Unit Leaders Breakfast

On Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at 8:00 AM, the Unit Leaders will have their breakfast. The Drill Drawings will be held immediately following the Breakfast. If you cannot attend the breakfast or your drill form is not received at deadline, your unit will be placed at the end of the drill. Please wear your Fez.

The Recorder and Treasurer Breakfast

The Breakfast will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2013. Please wear your Fez. Breakfast will be followed by a Seminar given by our Grand Recorder, Lady Marsha Maxwell, PGHPand our Grand Treasurer, Lady Annette Lesser, PGHP.

Class Pictures

Pictures will begin at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 21, 2013. Schedule will be in the Official Program Book.

Class Luncheons

Please wear Fez. Class Luncheons will be held Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Noon. Please check the Official Program Book for location.

Formal Opening

The Formal Opening of the 99th Grand Council Session, ‘Palm Trees and Sea Breeze’ will begin on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at 7:00 PM. There will be some pre-Formal Opening performances at 6:30 PM.

Formal Banquet

The Formal Banquet, ‘Dinner on the Nile’ will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 6:30 PM. Dress is formal or Egyptian. No Fez. Meal choices will be on the registration form.

Grand Outer Guard Elect Reception

The Reception for the Grand Outer Guard- Elect will be held immediately following the ‘Dinner on the Nile’ Formal Banquet in the foyer of the Grand Ballroom.

Installation of the 2013 – 2014 Officers

Installation will be held on Friday, May 24, 2013.

General Information

Registration and Credentials are located on the 2nd floor by the escalator. Make sure you have your 2013 Dues Card and your credentials with the seal of the Court.

Bring a sweater or a wrap as the meeting rooms may be cool. Please refer to the Ritual, (page 290)for appropriate attire for our meetings. Please wear long dresses, street length dresses, pant suits, Unit Travel Uniform, dress slacks and skirts. Unacceptable attire: jeans, cut off, shorts, sweatpants and sweatshirts. If you are an elected or appointed officer and will be presented in the East, you are required to wear a dress or skirt, preferably a long dress or caftan.

The morning will begin with a visit to the world famous SalvadorDaliMuseum. The DaliMuseum is home of the world’s most comprehensive collection of his works. A Docent will guide you through the life of Dali and the various artistic stages of his work ending with a presentation of his Master Works.

Lunch: On site at Gala, named for Salvador’s wife, the cafe embraces the heritage of Salvador Dali.by presenting a menu of light fare with a Spanish theme. The largest accredited sanctuary in the world dedicated entirely to abused & abandoned big cats. This 45 acre, wildlife sanctuary is home to 140 cats representing 16 species of wild cats. All in one place you will see Lions, Tigers, Geoffory Cats, Jungle Cats, Caracals, Snow Leopards, Bobcats, Lynx, and more. The mission is to provide the best home for the cats and educate the public about theplight of these animals.

As one of only 4 fully operational WWII ships in the country, the American Victory Ship

is a national treasure and true American icon. Come aboard and witness virtually the entire ship including its cavernous three-level cargo hold, radio and gyro rooms, hospital, galley, weaponry, steering stations, flying bridge, signaling equipment, wheelhouse, mess halls, crew cabins, and Captain’s quarters.
