In 2015, NYC attracted 60 million visitors.Ladies of Charity National Assembly attendees areinvited to experience the BIG APPLE with a selection of specially created tours and an evening event designed exclusively for them.

Tours are offered on Thursday, Friday and Sunday of the conference in the boroughs of Manhattan and Queens. Cititrek, Inc., is booking all tours.

Manhattan Tours:

TM-1 The 9/11 Memorial Parkand Museum…the Financial District…Shrine of St. Elizabeth Ann Bayley Seton

10:00am - 4:00pm

Tour Highlights: Walk through the park and museum that memorializes the three thousand people who were victims of a terrorist attack of September 11, 2001. Visit Brookfield Place for lunch on your own. Walk through the new Transportation Hub to Wall Street in the Financial District,and Trinity Church, to the Shrine of St. Elizabeth Ann Bayley Seton.

TM-2 Radio City Music Hall Backstage Tour…Art and Architecture of Rockefeller Center…St Patrick’s Cathedral and Fifth Avenue Stroll

Tour Highlights: Rockefeller Center is a city within a city, with 19 buildings located on 24 acres in midtown Manhattan. Visit the world famous Radio City Music Hall with a backstage tour; enjoythe art that adorns the interiors and exteriors of the buildings. Lunch on your own in the Rockefeller Center Promenade or Concourse. Cross Fifth Avenue to view the beautiful St. Patrick’s Cathedral followed by a stroll along Fifth Avenue towards the Plaza Hotel at Central Park South.

Queens Tours:

TQ -1 Long Island City and Astoria

Tour Highlights: Take a tour of the borough’smost excitingneighborhoods, Long Island Cityand Astoria, with their incredible views of Manhattan’sEast Side and more. Long Island City is noted for its rapid and ongoing industrial growth and gentrification, its waterfront parks, and has one of the highest concentrations of art galleries, art institutions, and studio space of any neighborhood in New York City. Astoria is named after fur magnate John Jacob Astor, who acted as front-man investor for the development of a village here in the early nineteenth century. In 1910’s Astoria became home to the first American silent film studios—a heritage celebrated at the Museum of the Moving Image—but today

the neighborhood is more locally famous for the large Greek community that began its migration here in the 1960s.

Included in the tour is a stop at Socrates Sculpture Garden, a visit to the Noguchi Museum and lunch at the Astor Room, the former commissary in the Kaufman Studios. Walk across the street to the Museum of the Moving Image where a museum educator will help rekindle memories of great achievements in the film industry.

TQ-2 Queens- The Ultimate Melting Pot

Tour Highlights: More than 150 languages are spoken in Queens. One community that boasts of its international essence is Jackson Heights, which was originallyplanned as a suburban community withlow-rise apartments and interior gardens. Stroll along the busy streets and taste some international favorites or visit shops that feature their fashions or delicacies Next, ride to Flushing, aka Little Asia, and seeFlushing Town Hall, Quaker Meeting House, Temple Ganesh, (a Hindu temple) and more. Rounding out the tour is a stop at Flushing Meadows, the site of two former World’s Fairs, and a visit to the Queens Museum.
