§  Rob Foster, Neighborhood Response Officer updates neighbors

§  Neighbors & Board Members introduce themselves & report volunteer hours.

GOOD NEIGHBOR CONVERSATION 7:15 PM

§  The board engaged in a discussion about the Good Neighbor motion. We want to continue to be a neutral place where the community can comment on relevant local events & issues in a respectful manner; where everyone has a voice and we do not take sides.

VOTE: KNA will not respond to a recent letter addressed to Kenton Business Association, mentioning Kenton Neighborhood Association.

JUNE MEETING—COMMITTEE & ELECTIONS 7:26 PM

§  Note: We will be doing an annual review of our by-laws in August.

§  General Meeting:

o  Focus: Public Health

o  Place: Disjecta Gallery

§  8371 N Interstate Ave, Portland, OR 97217

o  Time: Open House 6-7 PM

o  Catering: Green Zebra

o  Presentation: DEQ Nuisance Odors

o  Tables: Each committee will have a table to share information.

o  Melissa, Margaret, & Meegan will get together to plan.

§  Upcoming Year: Melissa will help support Meegan in the Chair role through Chair email account.

§  Upcoming Year: We will be forming a committee to find the next chair for the KNA.

PROJECTS & EVENTS 7:33 PM

§  PAUL BUNYAN UPDATE

o  Figure Plant came up with a quote for the cost to examine the statue: $2865. Jeff Jarvis, branch manager from North Denver Wells Fargo branch has sent the application to corporate for review. If all goes well, the bank will give the first $2000, KBA and KNA would cover the remaining balance.

o  This report would include the current condition of why previous painting in 2009 has failed and what steps are necessary to re-paint Paul, successfully for the future etc.

o  At that point, we can apply for funding to paint Paul as we will have the project scope and budget completed.

o  ODOT is preparing the gateway signage for the Paul Bunyan plaza & need a city of Portland permit. ODOT will pay for a permit, but KNA needs to take ownership for the signage. Upkeep, graffiti, etc.

o  ACTION: Meegan will get some specs on maintenance and additional information and send out a straw poll for the board to approve KNA ownership of the sign.

§  KENTON GARAGE SALE 7:50 PM

o  September 12, 2015.

o  Proceeds will go to Concerts in the Park

o  ACTION: Communications team will help promote: Facebook, website, etc.

§  STREET FAIR BOOTH & BARRICADES 7:58 PM

o  Sunday, May 17, 2015: 10-6 PM

o  Sign-ups for KNA booth

§  COMMUNITY GARDEN

o  All native plants are in

o  We would like compost donated from S&H; delivered twice over two months, with a 5-year commitment. Meegan will approach S&H.

o  City Farm: plants for People for Produce plot managed by KCP manager, Renee

§  Livability- Clean-Up Recap

o  Recap of Annual Neighborhood Clean-up

o  This Month’s Clean-Up: May 24, 9-11 AM

§  Meet at Posies go toward Peninsular Willis

o  Metro may be able to tell our story in upcoming communications.

o  Safety vests for livability team may be able to be financed through the Neighborhood Clean-Up Budget. Alex will get a quote to Meegan.

§  Noise—PIR Noise Monitor Update 8:21 PM

o  The monitor in our neighborhood is still not functional & was supposed to be up and running in 2011.

o  We need to establish a sub-committee that can take on train noise.

§  Marketing—Booth at the Street Fair

§  Emergency Preparedness

VOTE: KNA Board will allot the NET team $50 to pay for flyers and trinkets to be used for outreach purposes.
