Assignment of Rights to IFIP and Author’s Warranty to Springer

Under the United States Copyright Law, the transfer of copyright from the contributing author(s) should be explicitly stated in writing to enable the publisher to publish and disseminate the author’s work to the fullest extent. The following agreement must be signed by each contributing author* and returned to your books’ Editor with your final camera-ready manuscript before the manuscript can be processed for publication. The form will be sent to the Publisher with the final manuscript.
Part A- Assignment of Rights to IFIP
I am the author of an article entitled ______which was submitted to the International Federation for Information Processing (“IFIP”) for presentation at its conference on PRO-VE’11,held on 17-19 Oct 2011 atS. Paulo, BRAZIL.
I hereby assign to IFIP exclusively all my right, title and interest in said article, including without limitation the copyright therein.
I hereby warrant and represent to IFIP that the said article is original work and has not been published before in any form, that it does not infringe upon any copyright of any other person and that I am the exclusive owner of the rights herein conveyed to IFIP.
Part B- Author’s Warranty to Springer
I understand that Publisherswishes to publish this article as part of a book tentatively entitled ______(Proceedings of PRO-VE’11).
I hereby warrant and represent to Springer Publishers(Publisher):
(a)That the above-referenced article has never been published elsewhere in its present form;
(b)That the article does not infringe upon any copyright or other rights and does not contain infringing, defamatory or other unlawful material, and that I have obtained in writing the customary permission from each copyright owner or his or her legal representatives or heirs whenever a passage is quoted and/or a table or illustration from copyrighted material is used; and
(c)That I hereby agree to indemnify Springer Publishersfor, and hold Springer Science + Business Mediaharmless from, any liability, loss, expense or damage occasioned by any claim or suit by a third party for copyright infringement or otherwise arising out of any breach of the foregoing warranties as a result of publication of the article as aforesaid.
I understand that Springer Publishersis under no obligation to me to include the above identified article in the above described work or to publish the above described work.
