1/26/15 Meeting Minutes

Members signed in with Secretary Emily Shriver.
President Anna Hathcock called the meeting to order and lead the Pledge of Allegiance at 7 PM.
The Executive Board led a group Ice Breaker called “Who am I”. Members had names of celebrities taped to their backs and had to ask yes or no questions to help them guess who they were.
Social Chair Caitlin Epstein discussed the By Laws Committee: She will be chairing this committee and Allyson Finley, Maddy Bovasso, Emily Horn, and Meg Aldridge have volunteered to be on this committee.
President Anna Hathcock briefly spoke about the New Sign Up Genius protocol for event chairs.
President Anna Hathcock talked about the City Council Meetings, 6:00pm in Council Chambers at the Municipal Building, 26 Union Street South. 1/8 was attended by Adelle, Hannah Ross & Will Patten. 2/12 will be attended by Katherine, Brandon, Amelia, Emily, Lia & Ugoji (4 openings)

Chairs Meg Aldridge & Raina Meyer spoke about Old Courthouse Theatre, ushering for Proposals, 1/24, 1/25, 1/31, 2/7, 2/8, times vary. Volunteers- 1/24: Kerry, Merrill; 1/25: Austin Barbee, Audrey; 1/31: Katleen, Lucas; 2/7:Caitlin; 2/8:Aarushi
Chair Ugoji talked about Jeff Gordon Children’s Hospital blankets.Volunteers Kerry, John Edwards, Aarushi, Katleen, Rebekah, Mitchell, and Katherine made 9 blankets tonight before the meeting.
Chair Jake Ryan briefly discussed Community Free Clinic, 2/17. Sign-Up Genius out soon!
President Anna Hathcock spoke about the State Youth Council Service Learning Conference, 1/30-2/1, High Point. Will be attended by Allyson Finley, Callie, Caitlin, Emily, Maddy Bovasso, Meg Aldridge and Katherine Shue.
President Anna Hathcock talked about Operation: Teddy Bear Drop, 2/2, 3:00pm, Build-A-Bear. Members signed up to attend are: Ugoji, Allyson, Lia, Loren, Mary Loren, William B., Adelle, Will P., and Hannah Ross.
Chair Maddy Bovasso discussed Backpacks for Hope, 2/4, 4pm, Academy Rec Center. Members signed up to attend are: Dorothy, Symira, Ugoji, William B., Adelle, Hannah Ross, and Will P.
Chair John Edwards spoke about Valentines 2 Seniors, 2/12, 3:30pm, location TBD. Sign-Up Genius will be sent out soon!
President Anna Hathcock talked about the 2015 Executive Board: Elections for Officers.
The slate is as follows: President: Callie Alvarado; Vice President: Katherine Shue; Secretary: Maddie Bovasso. Appointments to Chairs have been made by the Advisors: Finance: Meg Aldridge; Social: Allyson Finley; Program/Marketing: Caitlin Epstein
Next meeting is 2/9, 7:00pm at the Police station. Salisbury Youth Council will be our guests! (Outgoing and Incoming boards will meet at 6pm)
