Theresa D Sansom

Born in Waco, Texas in 1971 and have lived inHouston, Austin and Round Rock, Texas. My husband, Travis J (TJ) and I have resided in the City of Jarrell, Texas for the past 10 years along with our two children, Tucker (9) and Taylor (2). I graduated high school in 1989 from RoundRockHigh School in Round Rock, Texas.

I am currently employed as an Office Manager for a commercial architectural firm, Spencer Godfrey Architects, Inc., in Round Rock, Texas. My journey with the firm began in 1984 and over the past thirteen (13) years, my position grew from receptionist to office manager/interiors coordinator. My areas of responsibility are as follows: coordination/selection of interior finishes for projects, submit projects for jurisdictional agency review, bookkeeping, AR/AP, HR as well as general office management and clerical duties.

As a Jarrell resident, I have previously served as Secretary for the Jarrell Youth League and have been involved in the local Cub Scouts.

Jarrell is a new City, and like all new cities we are experiencing growing pangs. Over the past few months I have witnessed a desperate need in our community for unity, guidance, and organization. Whether the residence of Jarrell wants it or not, growth is coming to our community and at a rapid pace. The City of Jarrell and the Emergency Services District need to be able to keep up with the growth demands for the safety of our residents and businesses.

The local Jarrell Volunteer Fire Department has in the past and is currently doing a wonderful service for our community. Unfortunately, due to the rate of growth, a volunteer fire department just isn’t enoughto service our entire City. The services of our local volunteer fire department will be needed for many years to come; however, there is a desperate need for a full time, 24/7 fire department and EMS.

I am currently seeking a position on the Williamson County ESD 5 Board to offer my assistance in bringing adequate fire and EMS services to this community for its immediate needs and set a plan of action for the future. My experience with commercial architecture which includes fire stations and dealing with jurisdictional agencies can be an asset to the board. My skills in running the administrative department in a small firm can also be of great benefit to the board as well as my genuine concern for the safety of our residents and businesses alike.

I want express my gratitude for considering myself for a board position. It would be an honor to server my community.

Please let me know if additional information is needed to aid in your decision.
