Fences 60 – 70 cm approximately

CLASS 5:Open Competition:

Fences 1 – 1.10m approximately

Each class will be open to individuals and teams of 3 or 4 members, best 3 scores to count.

RULES

All classes are open to Pony Clubs, School Teams and individuals, and Riding Clubs/ Teams. No horse/pony may compete more than once in each class. No rider may compete more than once in a team, they may compete in another team riding a different horse/pony.

This competition will include a variety of show jumps and cross country style jumps. It will be run as a SINGLE ROUND competition with 2 phases, the first phase with show jumps, and the second phase with the cross country jumps. All competitors proceed to the second phase whether faults have been incurred or not, apart from eliminated riders. The second phase will be timed.

All competitors will jump both phases, the winner being the fastest in the second phase with the lowest number of faults. For the team competition the best 3 scores out of 4 will count. The competition will be run under pony club rules, so that a rider may remount after the first rider fall, elimination occurring after the second rider fall on the whole course. In the event of refusals, the competitor will be eliminated on the third refusalin the show jumping phase or the third refusal over the cross country phase. Scoring will be displayed on the day, but will be 4 faults for a knockdown or 1strefusal, 8 faults for a 2nd refusal or fall in the show jumping phase.

4 faults for a knockdown, 10 faults for 1st refusal, 20 faults for 2nd refusal, 20 penalties for a fall in the cross country phase.

All teams must present themselves to the tack steward 15 minutes before their class is due to start to ensure that tack and turnout are safe. All hats CANNOT be fixed peak and must comply with British Safety Standards.

The warm-up arena will be stewarded and run with 2 teams warming up and 1 team waiting.

The jumps in the warm-up arena must not exceed the height of the jumps in the main ring.

Body protectors are compulsory, due to the cross country phase of the event.

We reserve the right to run classes early, so please arrive in plenty of time.

Neither the organisers, staff at King’s Sedgemoor Equestrian Centre nor any person acting on their behalf accept liability for any loss, damage, accident, injury or illness to horse, rider, spectator or any other persons or property however caused.

The organisers of this event will have taken all reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present.

Everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the organiser and all official stewards.

The Judges decision is final.

GENERAL: No rubbish to be left on the site.
Please clear up all droppings and hay from trailer park.

Dogs must be kept on leads at all times.
