o  The PBIS is comprised of 3 tiers:

o  Tier #1 is for all student and is an introduction to PBIS and lessons are based on the Core Values of King Elementary. King crowns will be used as reward incentive for students for good behavior and will be accumulated towards achieving a special incentive.

o  Tier #2 is for students that may need additional support possibly in a group with students with similar needs.

o  Tier #3 is for students that need individualized attention including IEP and also works with family support groups

o  Brophy Elementary has implemented all three tiers in approximately three year. The focus of King this year is to fully implement Tier #1 and start to work towards implementation of the next two tiers. There are currently some activities in the other tiers ongoing and in the early stages of implementation by Lydia Jones.

? Is there any alignment of the PBIS principles with the before / after school program.

ü  The before / after school program will be included in the rollout of this PBIS program.

o  PBIS has been started on some of the buses by Kim Taylor

o  Students have not been formally introduced to the program however the staff is starting to use the principals of PBIS prior to rollout after the holiday break.

o  PBIS is based on data (ie certain time of day or certain behaviors) that help to develop the lessons targeted to address the behaviors.

o  One main outcome of PBIS is the time in the classroom

o  This will reduce the amount of time students spend on office visits.

o  One example highlight 12,105 minutes saved on office visits or an extra 33.6 school days gained by implementing the PBIS program.

o  Rewards are given for good behavior such as King Crowns, Cameron Cash, etc..

o  The students will learn to expect positive behavior from the staff

o  The students will be begin to feel good about themselves
