The Holy Gospel

The Sacred Story : Children are invited forward to listen to the Gospel, a brief sermon and the singing of “Christmas Must Be Tonight”. You are invited to sing the chorus.

*USHERS: dim the lights for Silent Night. Hand votive- lights to children first, then distribute remaining lights to the adults in pews

When prompted, children bring forward a paper prayer-straw for baby Jesus’ bed, to welcome him and to make him at home in the world. Do say a prayer to yourself as you come forward with your straw.

The Communion

All are invited to receive communion. Children may receive with parental consent. We will try to form a single line, with bread and wine stations near the altar. Directions will be given. If you do not receive Communion, come up for a Christmas Blessing anyway!
