KIA ~ PROVIDNG THE LOWEST COST MOTORING ACROSS AUSTRALIA!

Just days after the RACQ picked the Kia Rio as the lowest cost car to own in Australia, the Victorian motorist’s organization, the RACV, has produced the same result after an exhaustive examination of what it costs to own a car in Australia.

With rising petrol prices, nor does the good news for Kia owners stop there. The RACV and RACQ are joined by the NRMA in New South Wales in crowning the Kia Carnival as the lowest cost people mover to own in Australia.

The Carnival’s money-saving ways are not just a matter of a few cents, either.

The NRMA revealed that the Carnival is the only people mover to cost less than $200 a week to own, with some of its rivals breaching the $300 a week barrier and one rival with four cylinders to Carnival’s V6, costing nearly twice as many cents per kilometer to drive.

The motoring organization’s examination of what it costs to own a car is both thorough and exhaustive, checking every cost over a typical five year/15,000 km per annum ownership period. This not only includes purchase costs, but also depreciation – the largest and often the most hidden cost of motoring – as well as insurance, repairs, fuel costs and parts prices. Every cent is accounted for, checked and added to the total cost.

This results in some interesting cost breakdowns. For example, the Kia Carnival owner can expect, compared to the tested rivals, to suffer the least depreciation and spend the lowest amount on repairs and servicing. Even the interest charge is the lowest. It also means that three Kia Rios, with a total of 15 seats, cost the same as one large 4WD to own! Or, a Carnival owner could save as much as $7249 per annum, which is a very good family holiday!

“The motoring organizations are to be congratulated for their work producing these figures,” says Dinesh Chinnappa, General Manager of Kia Automotive Australia. “And everyone considering a new car should check out their work before making a buying decision. These results reveal that Kia has done more than provide outstanding value for money in the showroom. We have worked hard to cut parts prices and this is reflected in servicing, repair and even insurance costs. It is a clear demonstration of the added importance, in these times of rising fuel costs, of Kia’s dedication to cutting the cost of motoring.”
