Post:Community Worker
Salary:Scale D £20,336-£21811 pro rata
Working hours:Part time 20 hours
Responsible to: Operations Manager

Job Purpose:To develop activities inProgress Housing Group community facilities as requiredincluding setting up, delivering and evaluating a range of effective community projects. It will be essential to ensure that the Community is involved in all aspects of the project including liaison with interested groups.

Key Tasks

  • Use a range of participatory methods to ensure that the community is involved in the design, delivery and evaluation of the project.
  • Identify and support the passions and interests of local residents
  • Identify, recruit and train volunteers to support and run community activities.
  • Liaise with voluntary and statutory stakeholders in the local area
  • To manage the day to day running of The Base initially and other facilities as identified
  • To facilitate a range of activities and events for the community including groups for

Young people that offer support to build their confidence and develop their potential.

  • To support the preparation of funding bids for activities and projects.
  • To maintain accurate records of work undertaken.
  • To develop effective monitoring and evaluation systems.
  • To assist with marketing of the project through promotional activities.

Qualifications
1. GCSE or Equivalent in Maths and English, Grade C or equivalent.
2. An appropriate qualification in Youth & Community / Community Studies etc. / E

3. Knowledge and experience of community and youth work practices, principles and values
4. Excellent networking skills
