RULES:
Rules of the Contestants approved by the Kewaunee County Fairest of the Fair Committee:
- The contest is open to individuals who have been a resident of Kewaunee County and the State of Wisconsin at least one year prior to entry.
- The time, manner and method of judging will be decided by the Fairest of the Fair committee.
- Contestants must be in 7th grade or 8th grade in school.(fall 2015-2016)
- The decision of the judges is final.
- Contestant may be an entrant in only one county or district fair, which is considered to be the “home” fair of contestant. The contestant must reside in the county represented. The only exception: Contestant may reside in an adjoining county, if majority of fair and/or school activities are in the county in which the contestant enters the contest.
- Talent contest is not required.
- Interviews and selection will take place on November 28, 2015 at the Fairest Gala, Kewaunee County Fair Grounds Luxemburg, WI.
- Further instructions and information will follow.
- Parents are responsible for their own financial admittance to the fair and other events that the Jr. Fairest of the Fair program candidates are asked to attend.
- Parents must attend a mandatory meeting prior to the contest starting.
- The Kewaunee County Jr. Fairest winner and any members of the Kewaunee County Jr. Fairest Court may not post any pictures or post anything dealing with The Kewaunee County Fairest program on any social media Twitter, Facebook ect. without consent of the Kewaunee Fairest of the Fair Committeeor the Kewaunee County Fair Board.
- The Jr. Fairest of the Fair and The Jr. Fairest Court may only wear the crown or sash of the Fairest of the Fair program for official approved functions ONLY.
Junior Kewaunee Fairest of the Fair Duties:
- Serve as one of the official host or hostess at the 2016 Kewaunee County Fair.
- Participate in promotional activities and media events approved by the Kewaunee County Fairest of the Fair Committee. These activities include and are not limited to numerous parades, speaking engagements, and appearances.

2016 Junior Fairest of the Fair-Contestant Instructions
- Submit completed applications by October1st, 2015 deadline. All rules are stated on the application.
- You will need to prepare two presentations for the selection program. The first will be a self-introduction and the second will be a welcome/ event introduction. Both should be memorized.
Self-Introduction
Prepare a 30 second self-introduction that may include the following: Name, age, parent’s name, city you are from, school you attend and grade, 4-H Club or FFA Club, current goals and/or future plans. Remember this is a maximum 30 seconds.
Welcome/ Event Introduction
Prepare a 30 second welcome/ event introduction that you would give at the fair during judging, events or introducing entertainment. Be creative and use excitement.
- Individual and group interviews may be conducted with a panel of judges. During the coronation program you may be asked an impromptu question, this is up to the discretion of the judges and/ or the committee.
- The new Junior Fairest of the Fair will receive a cash prize amount yet to be determined.
- Each Jr. Fairest of the Fair contestant must provide a silent auction item for the live auction part of the Fairest Gala. The value of the basket does not matter; items may be made or donated by a family member or business. The judges will be judging the presentation, not the dollar amount of the items in your basket.
