I-64 from the west-

Take Exit 183/Glenside Drive south. Continue south on Glenside Drive to

Three Chopt Road, turn left on Three Chopt Road.

I-64 from the east-

West on I-64. Take Exit 183-A/Glenside Drive south. Continue south on Glenside Drive

to Three Chopt Road, turn left on Three Chopt Road.

Once on Three Chopt continue through the intersection at Patterson Avenue. On the

right is the Village Shopping Center. Just beyond the shopping center is a residential area.

On the right, watch for Boatwright Drive. Turn right onto Boatwright Drive. At the

bottom of Boatwright, there is a wall which says AUniversity of Richmond.@ Bear left here.

On the right are tennis courts. Just beyond the courts are a covered bus stop area and the

entrance to the Campus. Turn right into the entrance. Continue straight ahead on Gateway

Road.

Along Gateway Road, on the right is the School of Business. Immediately after passing the

School of Business, turn right onto Ryland Circle. In this divided parking lot, there are four openings on the left. Take the last left (the one closest to the building ahead of you). At the bottom of this short incline is a small section designated for Visitor Parking. Park here.

Walk up the hill to what looks like a bell tower or carillon. This a part of Boatwright

Memorial Library. The Virginia Baptist Historical Society is the wing to the right of the bell tower. Walk up the sidewalk headed towards the bell tower and keep looking towards the

right of the tower. The Society=s name is over the doorway and posted on a sign near the building. (The Center for Baptist Heritage & Studies is housed at the Historical Society.)

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS for those transporting others who cannot walk up the hill or

climb many steps:

After turning right onto Ryland Circle, pass the four openings on the left. Bear to the right

and drive into the circle. Passengers can get out here. From this point they can follow the

sidewalk behind Ryland Hall straight to the Virginia Baptist Historical Society which will be

on their right.

The Society is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 noon and 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
