CHAMPIONSHIP SWIM MEET

HOST: RipTide Swim Team
LOCATION: Hillman pool, Cal State University, Bakersfield, CA (on the University campus; see Directions, below)
PARTICIPANTS: All clubs which are members of the Kern County Swim Team Council. Swimmers must be in good standing with their respective clubs. To qualify for entry to this meet, swimmers must have competed in 3 other meets as approved by the Council. (Council swim meets between May 19 and July 22, inclusive.)
COURSE: 25-yard pool with 10 lanes for prelims, 8 for finals.
TIME: The first event will begin at 8:00 AM. Warm-ups will be from 7:00 to 7:45.
This is a card-less meet with no check-in.
RULES: 1. With regard to stroke & turn, 2007 U.S.A. Swimming rules will govern the meet.
2. Swimmers must compete in age groups based on their ages as of July 28.
Age groups are listed in the Schedule of Events.
3. For seeding purposes, swimmers must submit best times for events entered, or use our times of record.
4. Each swimmer may enter no more than 3 events. Events may not be changed on the day of the meet.
5. Any protest must be referred to a team coach who will present it to the meet director.
The decisions of the meet director will be final.
6. This is a preliminaries and finals meet for events 1 through 80 and timed finals for the remaining events. The swimmers finishing 1st through 8th in the preliminaries will compete in the finals to determine the top 8 awards. The 9th and 10th place swimmers in the preliminary will be alternates if one of the top 8 is unable to swim in the final. Except for events 81-100, any event with 8 or fewer entries will be swum only during the finals.
7. Clubs must designate one person to pick up awards.

SWIMMERS & PARENTS: Please give all entry forms to your club's meet coordinator no later than July 17, 2007. Meet-entry Coordinators: Please see separate instructions for submission of entries for processing.
ENTRY FEES: $2.00 for each individual event. Swimmers should pay their own club's meet coordinator. Council will bill the clubs after the meet.
AWARDS: Medals for 1st through 8th, ribbons for 9th through 32nd in 3 groups of 8 each (“B”, “C” and “D”).

FACILITIES Parking is available in the parking lot south of the pool. Please keep driveways clear and observe regulations of the day. Food – A snack bar will be in operation for the duration of the meet.
DIRECTIONS TO THE POOL: : Enter the Cal State campus from Camino Media on the south side of the campus. Proceed north to the parking lot south of the gym. The pool is on the east side of the gym.

Please submit entries using the Hy-Tek program. If you do not yet have this program, contact Bruce Constantino at 661-332-3648 or the above e-mail.
We will expect to have the bulk of your entries in hand by Wednesday, July 18.
Please note -- Bruce will accept no information or requests directly from swimmers or parents. All communication is to be from each club's meet coordinator.!! This means entries, scratches, seed time changes, etc. (Please note that this is a rule for ALL meets during the season.)
Requests to change events or seed times will be honored until 8 a.m. July 23. After that, all requests for late entries or event changes will be referred to a higher court.
Please DO NOT send payment with entries!
Championship meet entry fees will be billed by Council.
DEADLINE for CORRECTIONS
Monday, July 23, noon
ALL swimmers must have met the season competition requirements.
Swimmers may not change events after the deadline – Don’t ask!
Swimmers may scratch anytime prior to the deadline and not be billed.
Absolutely NO entries will be accepted after the deadline!
NO entries on the day of the meet.
A lost entry is a lost opportunity!
