Kris Thomas

Recruiting Coordinator

Johnson & Johnson

New Brunswick, NJ 08901

Dear Ms. Thomas,

My keen interest in the evolving healthcare arena, my desire to be an active part of Johnson & Johnson’s fast paced growth, and my passion to make a difference in the healthcare scenario of developing nations has driven me to apply for the International Internship Recruitment Program.

My interest in Johnson & Johnson started with my interactions with Bob Spurr (Ortho Mc-Neil) on the Doribax case study. My conversations with Nate Challen, Raj Pal and others during various events like the Marketing Day, Career Fair, company presentations, Meet & Greet etc, held at KFBS only spurred this interest. I was especially impressed with the high level of commitment shown by the people at Johnson and Johnson, to help us develop our interview and marketing skills through the advertising workshop and office hours.

Apart from the opportunity to work with this incredible set of people, my interest in Johnson and Johnson, and healthcare in general is twofold. Firstly, I thrive in actively seeking out challenges, and I’m excited by the changes that will be happening to healthcare industry in US and the rest of the world, which will shape the future. Johnson and Johnson, with its strong brand portfolio, global reach and strong financial position is poised to lead this metamorphosis and I want to add my might to bringing about that change. Secondly, I desire a program which encourages intrapreneurship, provides mentorship and training whenever required and allows me to work and learn across business functions, a role that I had enjoyed in my previous work place, and Johnson and Johnson’s IIRP sounds perfect for that.

As a brand manager with one of India’s largest media conglomerates, ABP Pvt. Ltd., I’ve had the opportunity to develop a diverse and well rounded portfolio of skills, and can immediately contribute the following skills to J&J:

Strong Brand Management Skills: In my role as Brand Manager of The Telegraph, I cultivated a broad range of marketing tactics my business acumen, lead cross functional teams, and build hard core brand management skills including designing futuristic pricing strategies, effecting turnarounds on stagnating products and owning profitability of the micromarketing division of my company.

Measured Risk Taker: I sought out My natural instinct to seek out new opportunities which led to my conceptualizing an expansion route for regional micro advertising, achieving management buy-in, and implementing mythe project which currently accounts for 25% of the regional advertising volume for my SBU. It is these skills which I believe would help me add value to any business role in Johnson and Johnson.
