WHAT WE SEEK
Our company is evolving and growing. We need more “people muscle.” We seek to hire an individual who combines the capacity for serious thought with an aggressive, marketing-oriented personality. With the proliferation of online content, one of the most significant issues in publishing today is getting known. You will work with Richard Koenigsberg and I to make certain that the publishers and authors we work with receive maximize exposure.
You will handle practical, down-to-earth tasks that lie at the heart of our business:
  • Typing publisher booklists.
  • Office management, including ordering supplies.
  • Creating invoices and monitoring payment.
  • Writing email marketing letters.
In addition, the individual will work with me to create the LSS Newsletter, and to keep our websites up-to-date.
SKILLS
  • Excellent writer. Ability to summarize scholarly material and to write email marketing letters.
  • Type 60+ words per minute.
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access).
  • Strong personality: able to work under pressure.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Adapt to change.
DETAILS OF THE POSITION
Library of Social Science is located in Elmhurst (Queens), New York City, 20 minutes by subway from Manhattan.
Position will begin 2-3 days a week, with possibility of moving to full-time.
