KC’s Dance & Cheer Center

2009-2010

Pep Squad Information Packet

Kinder Pep: 4-5 yrs. / Youth Pep: 6yrs & Up

Our Teams:

KC’s Pep Squads are cheer teams designed as an introduction for young girls & boys

who have an interest in learning & improving basic cheerleading skills and performing those skills at events in our community. Our pep squads do not compete and team members will not have to “try out” for their spot on our team. We are all about learning and having fun!

Pep squads will meet for a one hour practice each week.

Weekly instruction will include the basic fundamentals of cheer & dance with mini routines incorporated for local performances.

*An additional tumbling class will be offered at a discount to Pep Squad members.

This class is not required but is strongly recommended as tumbling will not be included in our weekly Pep Squad practice.

Pep squads will perform at a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 8 local community events per season which runs June-May including our annual end of year recital for KC’s Dance & Cheer.

Cheer for Charity:

All pep squad members are encouraged to support a local charitable organization and will perform at a fundraising event for that organization. Our 2009-2010 Cheer for Charity organization is still yet to be determined and we welcome your suggestions.

Below is our tentative schedule for the upcoming season’s performances. These performances and their dates are subject to change with availability.

October: Sachse Fallfest

Cheer for Charity

November: Sachse H.S. Football Game

December: Wylie Christmas Parade

Sachse Christmas Parade

Texas Scottish Rite Hospital

January: Wylie H.S. Basketball Game

February-April: Collin County Rattlers Football Game

May: KC’s Dance & Cheer Recital

Parents will be given notice of confirmed performance dates/times at least one month prior to the scheduled event.

*Expenses related to travel to/from and any expenses incurred during these events are not included in tuition and fees.

Attendance: Although we do not compete, we always want to have the best performance possible. For this reason cheerleaders may not miss the two practices prior to a performance. Any member missing one of these practices for any reason will be removed from the routine for that performance only. Our teams work hard all season to learn and perfect their routines and it is very difficult for them to make changes so close to a performance date. We are a team and our routines will incorporate each member as such, so your good attendance will help ensure our success this year. We appreciate your understanding regarding our attendance policy and for recognizing that it is for the best of the team and each of its members.
