Summary of Background

Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor

Currently working under supervision as a PCCI(License # 1676) through the Wellness Program in the San Francisco Unified School District in San Francisco, Ca. The population served includes students, parents. I am specific trained in mental health with an emphasis on crisis and trauma.

Teaching and Counseling background Skills

Currently, I am Dean/Head Counselor over all middle school in the San Francisco Unified School District. I provide mental health services including but not limited to grief, trauma, and family therapy.

Previously, I was dean of school atA. P. Giannini MS. Duties included supervision of counseling department, mental health counseling, and program development and planning.

Teaching experience includes twenty years as a Senior Lecturerin the College of Education at San Francisco State University, Adjunct in the College of Education at Argosy University, Doctorate level, dissertation Chair & Committee Member, and eight years teaching grades 7-12 in the San Francisco Unified School District both ELL and special needs populations. From 2006-07, I consulted for the West Contra Costa School District, developing school-site community building workshop using an “Emotional Intelligence Model”.

Program Director & Development

Currently, I run an alternative to suspension Saturday School Program for grade 6th-12th. The program is based on a mental wellness model; restorative practices and Response to Interventions (RTI) Model underline processes. I supervise all Saturday School employees, develop the budget, plan and develop all curricula, and work with all schools referring students.

I have also worked as a Saturday Principal at Potrero Hill Middle School in San Francisco for the Math and Science Academy. This program was designed to serve students who score below the 25th percentile on a standard measurement of achievement. My direct responsibilities included designing and facilitating teacher instruction related to improving students’ academic reading and writing skills in math and science. Approximately half of the identified population served was ELL students. Additional responsibilitiesincluded opening and closing of school site, school-site management, student discipline, curriculum development, hiring, supervising teachers, and staff. The program was a huge success!

Program Evaluation

Program assessment: evaluated higher education administrative programs, courses, instructional practices, diversity related programs with regard to educational policies, and dorm houses in higher education that were designed to increase diversity awareness and multiculturalism and course content campus-wide.

Implemented Student Internship Programs in the San Francisco Unified School District. Established business internship sites in the San Francisco financial district, designed brochures outlining the intent and benefits of the program, 3) protocol and policy development, 4) inservice training and education for students in program, and 5) supervision of students assigned to various internship sites.

Evaluation: Assessed undergraduate students' records, grades, and general readiness for higher education. Assisted students in applying for higher education including financial aid applications, SAT prep, and test, campus tours, and orientation.

Technology Background

Proficient in all Windows operations, Home-page development, Power Point, Excel, MS Word, SPSS, Internet navigation, and End Notes.
