INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS COURSE

Dear partners

Dear international contacts

We are proud to send you our new International Business Course-program (IBC) and we are happy to invite your students to come over to Antwerp and join. The students can choose the program of the Autumn Semester, the Spring Semester or the whole academic year.

Each semester starts with three or four weeks of introductory courses on the Dutch Language and Belgian Culture and Economy, and is then followed by a series of business modules in English. Next to the general business modules, the students can choose from two Fields of Study: Finance and Insurance (Autumn) and Logistics Management (Spring).

Students will have to pass exams in order to get credits and then get an IBC-certificate.

On arrival, students will get a Quick Placement test of English. The students who fail this test will be asked to join the English Upgrading course. However, we count on you to select students with a good English level. The level we expect is the B1-level of the European Framework.

The courses are free for Erasmus students of our LLP partners (there is however a contribution of costs: because of printing costs involved and the cost for the Belgian Culture and Economy module, we ask a contribution to each student of 100 euro).

Erasmus Intensive Language Course (EILC):

Introduction to Dutch and Belgian Culture and Economy are obligatory for all students, because we believe they should know something about their host country. Please take care: Dutch language and Belgian Culture and Economy are compulsory courses but students have to register for it explicitly via their Erasmus Coordinator. This EILC-Application Form should be filled in electronically and can be found on the following websites:

The EILC-Application Form should be sent to us before 1 June, by email or by fax, and signed by the student and the Erasmus Coordinator.

Every year our EILC-course is full, so the sooner you can send the Application Form, the better. When all the free places are taken, we will put you on a waiting list. We can only accept applications that are filled out completely and correct, and that are send to us by the coordinator of the home institution, not by the student individually.

For the IBC-program students should register using the Application Form and the Learning Agreement Form, which should be sent back to our campus:

Karel de Grote-Hogeschool, Department of Commercial Sciences and Business Administration, International Programmes Office, Nationalestraat 5, 2000 Antwerpen, BELGIUM.

You can find these documents on our website: (go to International).

As soon as we have received the Application Form, the Central International Office will then further contact the applicant to arrange registration, accommodation and arrival.

The Central International Office of Karel de Grote-Hogeschool is located at Van Schoonbekestraat 143, 2018 Antwerpen, BELGIUM. Institutional Coordinator is Mrs. Helene Vanbrabant.
